Hi Jamie, my name is Will Stewart and I beat you by 4 minutes and 27 seconds last year at Regionals. ouch, phoenix you're just getting ripped without mercy here! anyway, i'm doing a section on statistics in one of my courses right now, so i thought i'd get a little homework out of the way by conducting a little survey of the tnf community. i'll be using the results as part of a study that takes a look at the general public's feelings on post-secondary education in the lower mainland. a variety of questions will be asked to several distinct portions of the population, both (decidedly) biased and unbiased. for this part of the survey there will be only one question*. *taken from 2007W UBC faculty of human kinetics entrance exam. The acronym "SFU" stands for which of the following? a) Silly Facking (c)Unts b) School For Undesireables c) Silly Facking University d) Sorry For (s)Ucking e) Simon Fraser University f) Other *if your choice is f) Other, please state your answer and give a brief explanation of your reasoning. Please submit your responses in the form of a post on this message board.

i feel i've responded appropriately to will.
now as for you frenchie, you hear the the letters s-f-u and the first insulting acronym you can come up with is "silly facking cunts"? Hey i got a great one for ubc guys, it's: Ultra (dum)Bo's who Come up with shitty acronyms... (erkel laugh) hahahaha - funnyyyyy.
and besides this debate has been had, SFU stands for Super Fun Utopia because it's a utopia of super fun.

The ‘I’m so humerous, I’m your best friend and you’re amazing comeback is also grossly overused. And yes, 50/50 Sunday October 28th and Thursday Nov 1st… good games too. Frenchie stop ripping on f*cking HKIN. Reasoning is as follows: 1. You’re basing the unintelligence of HKIN students on one person, me, and it’s quite evident that I don’t steal shit from books, go to class ever, or aspire to be an Academic All-Canadian (any meals with Stephen Toupe should be avoided at all cost). 2. It’s harder to get into HKIN than Engineering 3. We’re faster, stronger and better looking 4. We don’t wear those abrasive Red Engineering Jackets around like absolute doorknobs 5. Our Labs involve fat chicks bailing on incline treadmills (funniest thing ever) www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqQGT8bZt5I ** this has happened several times and was 10-11x funnier than that video. Dude, come on now...acronyms are like the easiest thing to make up. Off the top of my head: Super Fucking Uneducated, So Far Underdeveloped, School For Unintelligent, Stands For Uninteresting, So Friggin' Unimpressive… I couldn't even type that as fast as they were flowing. Blah.

So Freakin' Unbelievable, Super Fantastic University, School For the Unreal, etc., etc.
Harder to come up with suitable acronyms for UBC, I have to say. Unbelievably Bad Calligraphers is the only one that came to mind, and its not all that insulting, really.

k, so i got three votes for f). thanks for your participation, guys.
and acronyms are easy, no shit. Super Females of Ugliness, Somniferous Fatties that are Uneducated, Stupid, Flippant and Unpleasant, Salacious for Fags University, etc. etc.
feeling the need to get a little defensive there, will? it's not you i'm making fun of, don't worry. there's some pretty legit brainiacs in hkin (i know a fair few), don't get me wrong. i'm just poking a little fun (good naturedly, i thought, but perhaps it didn't come across that way). i won't lie, i've heard some pretty incriminating rumours about some of the "exams", but these are all hearsay, so please don't take my jesting at face value. and no, i don't think you're dumb. so chill.
ps what about me suggests that i take any part in the red-jacket-wearing beer-swilling taking-part-in-alcoholic-frats hanging-out-with-other-meathead-dudes-24/7 getting-way-too-into-eus-"politics" wasting-time-painting-the-stupid-fucking-"E" haven't-exercised-in-three-months no-ass-getting male-chauvinist stereotypical portion of the engineering faculty? answer: not a fucking thing.

will was obviously in a bit of a grumpy mood last night. The "im so friendly part" wasn't a comeback, that was me sucking up to try and get invited to canucks games. The comeback was the part before that where i said no one on your team could crack sfu's top 5.
i've beat a lot of guys in pick-up basketball here at sfu, but it doesn't make me a good baller. if you feel the need to resort to challenging sfu's 14th man on the depth charts to salvage some pride on your season, then i am happy to keep tossing these back and forth for shits and giggles.
this is getting a little nuts though with 4 of us making 99% of the posts on this thread, especially when you consider that the only thing i am running this season is my mouth.

well SUPPOSEDLY someone that i know not saying any names signed up for tnf with the intent of making some trashy posts......
I sense that there is a large number of lurkers in our midst.....larger involvement from both sides = improved/intensified rivalry/intersquad relations. if that makes any sense.
camman, people.

no workouts or runs for a whole week makes will an angry man.
actually my hack on sfu's 14th runner was in response to your comment that no members of the UBC xc team were good enough to be posting... just found it far too ironic/ridiculous that it was coming from your mouth, that is all. plus, the plethora of posts yesterday were due to the fact i read two pages of useless banter all at once and tried to retort appropriately.
phoenix, have no fear. i am the closest thing this thread has to a closer in baseball. although i may be nearing the end of my career and am incredibly injury proned... all i need is one race.
regionals are november 3rd.

Boy looks like UBC needed some serious red-shirting over the past few years to have any chance of beating SFU in 2007. If there's one thing Stewart is good for it's pulling some crazy shit out of his ass at the end of the season. Maybe the new challenge should become: Can a UBC runner run fast enough at Regionals to be beat a scorer from SFU.

I know for sure that there are some lurkers from SFU on this thread. New team policy: If you're reading, you're posting. Will, Phoenix, Frenchie and I aren't going to be around forever. One day all you froshmores (you know who you are) are going to have to carry this thread yourselves, best get some practice now.

So far we've seen three other debut posts from the Clan on this thread. One was baller, one was jobber, and one was pretty bad but got an A for effort (I'm still laughing at those idiots trying to zip in behind the busses...hilarious). But this fourth one just blows. No grand entrance, no humourous essay post, no funny youtube vids. Just one line of anonymous stupidity.
I mean WTF kind of debut post is that? I'll tell you what kind: a shitty anonymous one.
Go home.

Ya, you forgot me, and I have numerous (albeit short) posts on the thread thus far. You also failed to mention TheHoff and his stellar post.
I've been trying to concoct a clever post that would live up to the likes of gant and phoenix, but that is a big task to handle. Plus, really, can't say I'm one for kicking while one is down. I already reminded the UBC squad of the fact that even their fearless leader Will can't crack our top 5. That's gotta be disheartening enough to the rest of the team. I wouldn't be surprised if the newer UBC members are rethinking their choice of UBC, and wishing they had made as good a decision as I did in choosing SFU.
Perhaps we've all been too busy training like real runners and letting our results do the speaking. They do say that actions speak louder than words. Our so-called "fun" practices take a fair amount of time. Also, I don't believe we've seen many of the freshmores from the UBC squad either.
In the Will vs. SFU top-5, I'll put money on our top 5. Heck, who knows, maybe he'll even get a nice view of my aged rear-end come Regionals. Only time will tell.

I did remember thehoff, his was the baller post to which I was referring. So I forgot someone else? Whatever.
Will seeing your aged ass in Regionals? Can you say hopeless-fantasy-much? I don't see the odds of that as being very good, especially considering that the last time our teams raced you were about a lap behind me, and I in turn was about a lap behind Will. You see, if you do the arithmetic, that adds up to you being about two laps shy. If you're not convinced, I'm sure illwill wouldn't hesitate to remind you how many minutes behind him you finished at Canadian Nationals last year....he seems to enjoy doing that...

Frenchie,
I won't even refer to how far back he was from me (that's just plain mean), though i will mention that Luke 'lairlos' Cairlos kicked the crap out of him wearing 25mm (that's right 2.5cm) spikes at Canadian Nats last December... these spikes not only hindered his performance greatly, but also further proved that he is apparently the shittiest cross country runner in Canada (Canadian National Cross Country Championships, 2006)... even a Nov 3. bout of SFU food poisoning wouldn't put you ahead of me bud.
10 golden stars and a pat on the back for participation though, i must say.

Yeah, better not tell me how far back; apparently I'm not aware of my own results. But hey, thanks for the reminder, and nice digging. If you want to find some more of my results, feel free to look at OCAA last year I must say though, it's nice to finally see I stirred up some running-related banter again. Discussion on phoenixvic's sex life was getting a tad strung out if you ask me (no offence to phoenix). And I still think it'd be nice to see some other UBC members jump in on the thread.

25mm spikes? I didn't even know they made spikes that big. Crazy.
Just checked this weeks rankings, and we got bumped down again, right out of the top 25. This is going to make regionals very interesting. If we run like I know we can, I think we're going to knock off at least 2 of those jobber teams ranked ahead of us. A third place finish by us will probably limit the number of at-large berths given to our region, and I'll bet that at least one of those teams (E. Oregon, S. Oregon, and the University formally known as Albertson's), who have been ranked all year, won't get to Nationals. I'm getting ahead of myself here, we're still gonna have to perform very well on the day, but I have a feeling somebody's gonna come away from Regionals feeling like they got royally screwed (more so than usual, I mean).

25mm spikes are designed for throwing the javelin... on grass. End of story.
Thoroughly unimpressed with the rankings today. I'm dumbfounded that Darkside is yet to realize that when you don't race for a month... your ranking will go to shit.
Up until like a week ago wasn't 'The College of Idaho' officially listed on the rankings as Alberton's...

To be fair, had we not shat the bed at Stanford, we'd probably still be ranked.... just.
Here's the deal on Albertson's/College of Idaho: as you may or may not know, Albertson's is a grocery store chain in the USA. As I understand it, that enterprise basically built the school, so they got their name on it. Recently they donated a boat-load of cash to the school, and asked for the name to be changed. So there you go. I know this 'cuz we currently have an Albertson's alumnus training with us.

I clearly remember 25mm's.....it looked like he took friggin 3 1/4" fencing nails and pounded them through the soles of his spikes.
Frankly I'm surprised he didn't fall flat on his face...or even more embarassing, impale himself on his own footwear...
And so the Legend of Carlos the Elder grew even greater still...

Why the hell is Frenchie still talking about those damn 25mm spikes, especially after will clearly set the record straight and put an affirmative stamp on the issue with "End of story"? And don't you realize how difficult it would be to impale yourself with spikes that are on the BOTTOM of your shoes..and quite frankly even if you could manage to screw that up, i dont think it would be embarassing, i think it would just hurt like a bitch.

No...what I didn't realize was how hard it is for you to recognize a humourous exaggeration when you see one...
Oops, sorry johnny. You see, "humourous" means funny, "exaggeration" means making something sound.....(oh, what's a good small word to use that you'd understand....ah, I've got it)...."bigger" than it really is. Get it?
A real brainy pair you are. You do your school proud.

What i didn't realize was your inability to ever have a truly comedic post. Instead you continually bore everyone creeping on this thread with your lame ass jokes and dictionary-like defintions of words that either everyone knows what they mean, or they just don't care.
And don't bash on johnny, just because he doesnt have a websters dictionary and/or thesaurus beside him at all times, doesn't mean he's any less of an academic genious as...ok well im not going to say you but someone else maybe say Dgant or one of our other bright intellectuals over here up on the hill. And for the record, i do do our school proud, even if it is mostly during Pub nights, atleast i can say that about myself.
Hope your presentation went better than your posts ever do..
