A note about the, R.S Mclaughlin is going to have a decent team. Last year they were 4th in Junior Boys without Darlington which they would have easily won if he ran, considering there fourth runner was 107th, so if Darlington was there they would have taken off at least 100 points. Also if they're not good this year they will be the favorites for sure in two years, considering there 2nd through 4th runners looking very strong, there 4th, Nick Reay having run a fast 5k and Jamie Holt coming 11th at OFSAA 3k.

And they've also got Eric Dillon and another decent grade 12 in David Langford, who was 60th last year. They definitly have a shot at a medal.

tristan didnt look like he was that exhausted, but idk i couldnt tell you if he was. degroot was moving quick with daryl maybe around 20 seconds after with tristan maybe 10 seconds after daryl and a few seconds later a very close race by andrew and xavier both trying to outsprint eachother

Not very strong fields at all, except for Clara Langley came 2nd in Senior Girls even though she's a Junior. Im not sure who the other girl who won was but they were moving nicely, Clara must be one of the top contenders at OFSAA this year Clara should have run as a jr. for a more competitive race then since the winning pace per mile for both midget and jr. girls was faster than for the sg winner that she was a minute behind

As for the comment of the winning pace for the mg and jg pace being faster than the sg not exactly legit considering it is a different race there. Possible a little bit of bias

" As for the comment of the winning pace for the mg and jg pace being faster than the sg not exactly legit considering it is a different race there. Possible a little bit of bias " Fair enough comment. I was going by what was posted on the results and the distances are likely inaccurate. I plan on running the course with a GPS to try and see how accurate they are. While shorter, the mg and jg courses are actually more difficult in my opinion since that short esker hill is way more difficult than the climb at the end of the long esker loop. The senior boys are the only group that get lucky enough to run both.

Let's just say that, for a couple of reasons, this was far from representative of what Clara can do, and has been doing so far this year.

Let's just say that, for a couple of reasons, this was far from representative of what Clara can do, and has been doing so far this year. I don't know Clara or who her coach is but I've long held the belief that you don't run athletes up an age group unless it is to make a team and even then, only if the athlete is not in contention to win on their own. If Clara was sick or training through the race (who would actually be tapering for the Bof Q invitaional or any other race so far this season?) then why have her run up an age group knowing that Alexandre (a 10:39 3k runner) was there for plenty of competition in the jg race?

I'm guessing that both Clara and her coach did not know that this other girl was in the junior girls race. Also, the decision to race in the senior girls race was probably based off of her destroying the jg field at Trinity (the 2nd place girl, who was 41 seconds back, is a 10:45 3k runner, and the 3rd place girl is a 10:49 3k runner) and winning the sg girls race at TISS. She had a bad race at Bay of Quinte. It happens to everyone from time to time.

She had a bad race at Bay of Quinte. It happens to everyone from time to time. I've had my share of bad races and know that they can be frustrating. The decision to run her up sort of makes sense to me since I saw the Trinity race and she did look awesome there but I still would have run her as a jr Based on what I saw at Trinity and ignoring last Friday's race, I would have to agree that she is a definite threat for a high placing at OFSAA. It is too bad that she didn't race Alexandre on a day that she was up to the task since I think it would have been a lot more interesting than her Trinity race.
