any one else wtfing over xavier? murmurings are he's sick, and you'd think he would have to be to finish 27th... www.trackdatabase.combut wow.. that's quite far back to finish for such a usually dominant athlete... like if he was that sick wouldn't the intelligent move be to stay home? anyone at the race, and saw what went down?

that's quite true, but if the extent of his sickness puched him back from a likely medal position to 27th, wouldn't he have known that he wouldn't be able to help his team, and that running would be detrimental towards his health? i guess it was all or nothing.. try and qualify as a team for ofsaa, then rest up for his race and put in a good result

in GBSSA on the 28th jr. boys was won by Conner McConvey, beating Matt Drukan by a healthy margin. and in the sr. boys race Andrew Degroot beat Mike Pesce by over 1:30.
still think Degroot will win...........just sayin

Also, if his team had a good race they could have pulled him through to OFSAA if he didn't qualify as an individual.

It's a shame that 3 PHS runners were recovering from the flu, bad timing - That's ok, there will be Nationals and the flu should have run its course with anyone else by then...
congrats to All runners yesterday!

DeVries for the Sr. Boys Gold.
The kid is a machine.
His crisp librarian spectacles will point out the most direct, efficient way to complete the course...Not to mention the fact that upon first impressions he appears a young boy scout... This underestimation tactic Thomas has planned his entire life will be unmatched by the likes of DeGroot, Woodfine, Smith, and the others who so many have so foolishly placed above him in these rankings.
So watch out all you Esse-lovers and King-wagoners, cause Thomas "The Tank Engine" DeVries is ready to mop the floor with everyone in his path come Boyd this year...

about "X" he had strep throat adn yes it would have been smart to stay home but in the long run not really cause he realised that his sickness would prevent him of making it to OFSAA as an idivudual as usual, so even though he was sick he did better than most on his team helping him to make Pickering make it in as a team and allowing him to run with full health at OFSAA

I diefinately agree that Devries is a machine. My prediction is that he will medal for sure, without question. I have seen all of his races this season and he hasn't even put an effort into any races yet, still winning each by a huge amount. A top three finish must be considered for him.

Obviosly Eamonn will win Ofsaa still but i think this kirkup kid wont be far behind, maybe 2nd or 3rd Moyer had a cramp and has a legitimate win over Gavin Shields and Shawn Masters, even Brandon "Kirkup". As for the Devries comment, he hasn't raced any ofsaa medal potentials this year. Posting something as barbaric as that is a little hasteful for a guy who has a lot of work to do in order to crack the top 8.

I've waited till ofsaa qualifiers to make my predictions so here it goes.
JB: 1. Eamon Kicuch 2. Gavin Shields 3. Abdi Jama 4. Moyer 5. Kirkup
Teams: 1. Redmond 2. Corpus Christi 3. Churchill
SB: 1. Woodfine 2. Smith 3. Degroot 4. Hosier 5. TDV
Teams: 1. Massey 2. Cameron H 3. ?
Very hard to pick SB teams, with athletes coming done with the flu.

Don't count Sloan out as he did break away from the field today running 6.1km in 20:30 through mud puddles and pooring rain.

Shields didn't even bother competing at CWOSSA he was out sick. but the guy who won CWOSSA Junior is a midget and he ran 18:43! for the win on a fast 6km course. And for senior a shout needs to go out to Abdu Zaghlol CWOSSA champ running a quick 22:26 and beating Jordon Collison and don't forget CWOSSA champs have always historically done well at OFSAA. As for SB teams centre wellington needs some cred even though cameron was severely affected due to sickness they still had a big win in a tough race.

hey guys, this is just a little video i made of St Mary's junior boys at CWOSSA, for anyone who is interested. we ran away with a 36 point win, (1,3,7,24) thanks to our newest teammate, Ben Flanagan, a miget moved up that had the race of his life yesterday and won the whole thing, with Gavin being out. anyways, hope you guys enjoy the video, and watch out for us at OFSAA. Good luck to all the qualifiers from CWOSSA, hope you do well! And remember for OFSAA, there were only 20 seconds between 26th and 7th place in last year's miget race, so anything can happen! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjLJwF0oG-w

New predictions : Moyer: Gold (A cramp is unusual for someone that runs a lot, so i don't think it will happen again) Eamonn (silver) If any sickness puts him back a minute - he'll still be in the medals. If it's bad then I would scratch him from the list. Masters: I still consider him to be the closest behind Shields by what happened at Pre-ofsaa Sloan: fourth Palamar: repeat fifth Jama : sixth Kirkup : seventh

What happened to good ol' predictions that didn't matter if they were wrong or right, even by a mere 11 seconds. You might want to rethink your running career if you assume you are going to get beat because of "last week's results". Anything can happen my friend

Looking over what you have posted in the past, yes you have said you'd get beaten. I never put myself into predictions, and if I did it would probably be in first. I wouldn't want the mentality of going for anything less than gold. You're a great runner, I just don't want you wasting my time trying to argue with me.

Another Senior Boys team not really anyone is talking about is Highland, they have both the Forbes, and a very strong 3rd runner. They finished 6th at Pre-Ofsaa with their 4th runner scoring 160 of there 207 points. He is a stronger runner than that finish and they will probably have a shot at a top 5.
