So, we have the kitely-mciness and teh coaches poll, but what about the rest of us? what about the peoples poll??? Well, here it is (or will be...). The first ever request for voting in the CIS XC Peoples Poll. The only requirement is that you are a person. Your pet iguana can not vote. Ummm.. actually, now that I think about it, I'm not going to be biased like that. Your Iguana (or other not human pet) can also vote.
How the voting shall work: Rank the mens and womens teams from 1-5. A first place vote gets the school 5 points and a 5th place vote gets them one point. Voting closes in 24 hours. (10:30pm EST)
btw, here is the latest coaches poll:

Booth, when you say Windsor has three guys that can smoke you, do you mean like....... nevermind.
I don't know how the coaches voted Dal second last week and 7th this week. I was suprised to see them voted so high last week but when they proved they had 4 good guys at Western without Sheffield I thought they actually have a good team this year. I think they are a top 4 team with Sheffield.

Brodie Bert and the brock team will easily trounce the comp at OUA's and then claim the top 5 at CIS. All without scuffing their loafers!

I don't know how Manitoba's going to have 5 guys in the top 25. They'd be lucky to see 3.

Dude you're crazy to rank Dal ahead of Queen's and Western. Obviously both teams beat Dal this past weekend. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Well here are the results. In brackets is the number of !st place votes.
Men 1 Guelph 48 (4) 2Windsor 46 (6) 3 Manitoba 24 4 Dalhousie 13 5 Victoria 13 6 Western 10 7 Queens 8 (1) 8 Alberta 2 9 Nippissing 1
Women 1 Guelph 28 (2) 2 Calgary 27 (4) 3 Dalhousie 18 (1) 4 Western 10 5 Manitoba 9 6 Victoria 8 7 York 4 8 Toronto 1
I must say i was surprised to see the Dal women so high after showing how week they are at the number 5 spot this weekend. I was alos surprised at how far back some put Windsor. I suspect the tales of their demise to be much exagerated.
Unless anyone objects, i will post a call for voteing for next weeks pol once the weekends results ahve come in.
On a side note: I have decided to go back and dissallow animal voteing after a chicken voted Brock to sweep the top 5 spots.

Western is a hilly grass course that is notorious for being one of the toughest courses in the country. . . if it's wet. This past weekend it was moist but too bad, so the times were probably only a little bit slower then they could have been if the ground dry (like it was for the past 2 years). Mauricio will be very tough to beat, for anyone. Did someone say new favorite to win CIS?

Are you insane..Mauricio is not the favourite!
CIS has way more talent than the NCAA..there is noway an NCAA transfer can win CIS.
Guy Schultz is the only individual to win CIS in the last 15 years coming from the NCAA..and he had to take a few years off inbetween to train and get in shape for the tougher, colder, muddier courses.
I think this years race has AP all over it!! Hes a mudder, and with his base training on the bike, and pool, he will be ready for the cold weather. He's also got the home course advantage in G-town. If he doesn't win it will be a HUGE HUGE upset.

Trying to take the pressure off of Mauricio and put it on AP. Good try, AP isn't the top returnee from last year and he trains for triathalons.

Didn't Jerry Ziak transfer from NCAA to win CIS fairly recently?

C.M. should be considered the favorite right now. Or atleast A favorite. He wasn't so far ahead of Braden and Thorson however to be considerred untouchable.
