I have to call a good buddy of mine, Timothy Noisewaters, for top 5 in the 3k. During a 1500 TT the other day, I saw this kid get jumped by a mountain lion, rip it off himself, and still carry on to run a 4:04 while avoiding subsequent attacks. After he was done, he just suplexed it and lugged the thing home on his back, presumably to keep it as a training partner. Oh, and he can hold his breath for over two minutes. Keep an eye out for him, he'll be the one with the mad swagger and T-Pain shades. this

A number of good performances at the UW Dempsy Indoor meet last weekend. Travis V is looking good with a sub 1:55 and Keffri clocked a 1:58. There were also a few nice clockings in the mile. The 400m saw Benjamin A run a solid 50.05 and Stewart E 51.5 Click on UW and then the meet date of the 14th. Keep up the hard work everyone, the season is only a couple of months away. Predictions end as of the last day of Feb. The shoes will be going to one of only a few who have made predictions!!! Lol easy money.

keffri neal could be a dark horse in the 800, he's got good speed and he could potentially find himself on the podium if he races well...he should do good this year, next year he will be crazy fast.

what makes you think Adam Paul Morris and Dylan Weichel will beat sean keane? did they even run the 800 final last year or the 800 at all?

zibbo, buddy..... I know my predictions are pretty dam good and that I said to try and compete with them, but its looks like you just copied and pasted them and switched one or two names in different places. Thats just not right bro . Is there some kinda rule for that Kent?!?!

you just copied names off the BCA ranking site. what's the difference?
but yes, thank you for doing the research. it really helped with my preds

Incorrect. I used information from the BCA ranking site combined with last years results, my own knowledge of who I knew, who had graduated and who was returning. If you look at my preds and the BCA ranking site i would say only a bit more than half of the girls on my predictions are even listed in the rankings. Some are just running fast out of the school BCHS track program.

Last 5 days to make your predictions. I will copy all that have posted and keep them until after the BC's. No changes can be made after Feb. Don't miss out.... This will probably be very interesting as who can really predict how people will perform 4 months from now. Shoe size and who is really behind the posting name can be dealt with after the Championships.

scotty k not gunna lie, i'm impressed by the (almost) lack of bias in your picks.
I don't really feel like doing the whole predicting every event deal, but here's a few things I think are going to happen:
Brendan Restall and Benjamin A-A crush the rest of the 400 field, I can't really decide between the two for the win so I'll leave it at that.
Travis Vugataveen romps the 800, won't even be close
Clerke runs away with the 1500
The 3000's a tough one to call. Kent beat Clerke by alot last year, but not by enough to make him a lock. After BC XC I can't see him pulling away and hanging on without someone else pulling him along (like last year). I'll still take Clerke for the win, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
If Kent doesn't run the 1500 he wins the steeple easily.

Thanks for the plug Pre but let me be very specific. Being Justins coach allows me to plug in his workouts every week. This take almost all the bias out of the equation. If Connor Clerke can run in the low 8:30 or better, and I hope he does this year, he has a shot at beating Justin on the track. Connor will also have to be running low 3:50's this season in the 1500. I also hope he does this also! Justins times in training translate to these times or better and this is only Feb. I would like nothing more than to see these kinds of times regardless of who wins. Ontario has kids running these times and better so lets not make to big a deal out of them. I am just saying that regardless of what races Justin runs this season he will hit some fast times. ps as Justins Grad is the weekend of the BC's he most likely will not run the 1500m. Nevertheless, the 1500m will be a race he will focus on this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't seeing Justin run on a day-to-day basis be the reason for a bias? If you were seeing Clerke run everyday, you probably would see things differently, right? Could someone other than Scott maybe answer this one?

I see it more like an informed prediction on what he is doing now, not what he might do in the future. That is the biggest difference in how I see you using the word biased. I am not predicting his future times, he is running them now. In most practices he is hitting the intended targets. That is reality, not biased. Also, they are not that unrealistic times. Since this thread is mostly between you and I, don't expect many to churp in now. You only have to wait a month or so to know....

Good points, but how do you know that Clerke hasn't been running the same times in workouts? Maybe biased isn't the right word, but you're definitley not going to have the same opinion as someone who isn't seeing Kent's every workout.
And BC's are on June 4th and 5th, alot more than a month away.

Like I said, he is running these times now, not tappered! As I also said, I hope Connor is running these times. To compete against the best Canada has to offer I hope they both run these times or faster. He will be ready for the BC High School Championships but as in Cross he will be gearing for the club championships so he can make a spot on the BC team and compete at Nationals for a possible birth on the National team for Worlds. There is a reason he has only raced once this winter..... Lets enjoy the ride of the next few months. The start to the season is in a month.

In addition, I have 17 runners training hard and many of them will make strong impacts to this years competitions, not just Justin. Watch for Adam Paul-Morris, Lucas Ference, Alex Strachan, Dylan Weichel and Tyler McMillan in the 200/400/800 and Declan White, Tim Delcourt, Gurgot Bal, and Gurgit Rajput in the 1500/2000sc/3000 Have a great day Pre, I am off to the USA hockey game.

I agree with pre's thoughts. seeing justin run everyday (as well as him being your son lets not forget) will give you confidence that he can do anything. I'm know my parents and likely all other athletes parents have the same 'my kid can do anything' attitude. and thats what being a parent is about. I think justin will edge out connor in the 3000 but its either of their race. they are both grinders so anything can happen. justin wins steeple no matter what he races. he is that good. As far as peaking for bc's.... why? Nobody runs it, especially steeple and he is going to have to run a lot better than he did at xc nat's if he wants to make world juniors. There are a lot of guys who will be eligible who are returning and likely keen to make that team as well. it would be smarter to peak him for this race. Not a coach, just opinions formed from experience.

chirp
to talk down, insult or straightout downgrade another persons capacity to live or perform an activity. commonly used on sporting fields, school yard bust ups, or between friends.
blacktown boy to hills opposition chirp: "mate might aswell march your mother on the field, she would have a better chance of scoring"
Straight from urban dictionary
