I have to give a BIG shout out to the Saskatchewan representation at this meet. Two golds, a bronze, a 4th, and a 5th is pretty solid for a prairie province with less than 1/30th of the country’s population.

The Alberta ladies did well too, 2 in the top 8 for the juniors and 3 in the top 8 for the seniors. Not bad.

It took a second for that winning margin of Bairu to sink in... I kept thinking it was a 29... he was flying good man. Congratulations to all runners who put it on the line out there today!

DeVries probably could have challenged Bairu today with that performance. Outstanding.
(Too bad he didn't live up my crazy OFSAA prediction!)

Some really outstanding results out there. Was the course short at all or did everyone just run really well? I hope it's the latter.

so when do we know if we have senior teams? six of the top eight have to go to worlds right (i'm assuming this won't be problem for the jr teams)?

yes, so that would make her 20 next year and therefore ineligable for junior worlds.

Some really outstanding results out there. Was the course short at all or did everyone just run really well? I hope it's the latter. i think the time difference youre seeing compared to the course last year and 2 years ago is based on the condition of the course. It was fairly dry and no snow (moderately warm, i would guess like 5 degrees) so it made it fairly fast, compared to snowy and muddy last year (fairly warm), and snowy and freezing two years ago. Conditions were ideal considering the time of year, and the whole thing was run really well. props to UoGuelph and Speed River!

The times do seem really fast for the few people I know who ran it. Is it a very fast course in good conditions like yesterday? There was no snow and the weather was good, but how's the course? Hilly? How's the footing?
Looking forward to WXC, Bairu said on his Twitter that he's going for a top ten finish there.
