I hate to single people out but if I asked who should be on the team and everyone could only vote once then we would have 25 votes for Sully and none for anyone else. I left off Sullivan because he obviously deserves a spot... Everyone listed has good reasons for being on the team and they all are good athletes. Any one of these athletes would make the team in another year, fortuneately for Canada this year is really competitive.

Pardon my ignorance, but could I get some background on Matt Jonhns(t)on? Just saw his result from UBC but that's all I've ever noticed from him.

Matt Johnson ran a 7:57 3k in Seattle didn't he? And I know he has won BC HS back in the day. Won some NAIA championships while at SFU, and this summer was 4th at Canadian Nationals in the 5k. Went to North American 5k road race championships this year to i believe. He has been running really strong the last couple of monthes. And he is from Surrey, BC! And so am I. - Scobie

"Matt Johnson ran a 7:57 3k in Seattle didn't he?" He ran 8:03 a few weeks ago. He was 19th at national xc. He ran 14:10 outdoors last summer. I thought he posted a good indoor 3k last indoors, though I can't find results. He was 9th at the North American Challenge 5km in October. I think he made a junior team or two, though I could be wrong.

speaking of short course: www.eastandard.net/sports/sport16020403.htm"Five-time world cross country champion Paul Tergat and a leading British athletes’ representative Ricky Simms have supported proposals to reform the world cross country championships" "Athletics Kenya and a leading Dutch athletics agency with influence in Ethiopian federation are pushing for reforms in World Cross Country Championships with a view to scrapping the 4km races and running the entire championships in a single day."
