Nice race by McKenzie. I also saw that in the results Bodirlau was a DNF. Did he help pace Ryan or did Ryan do it all alone.

Too bad they didn't get an electronic time for that one.
Still, his 3:44.5h should now take Bob McCormick's 3:44.84 (1978 on the old CNE track representing Queen's) as a CIS record.

wow.
i think al klassan's CIS record will fall this march, concidering CIS' will be the same track as he ran the 3:44.5. the 1000 record is also trouble, mainly because mckenzie will be fresh for it - though the time would be tough to run on that windsor track -- i think there is a 35-65 chance he'll break the 1000 record. great run ryan

Still, his 3:44.5h should now take Bob McCormack's 3:44.84 (1978 on the old CNE track representing Queen's) as a CIS record. Further clarification on my above statement resulting from more research. Bob McCormack actually ran 3:44.6h at the 1978 OU champs at the CNE (second place was Toronto's Paul Craig in 3:44.9h). Apparently, the official (ATFS) policy for converting hand times for ranking purposes is to add 0.24 seconds for races less than a lap, but only 0.14 for races longer than a lap. However, it appears that the CIS policy is to uniformly add 0.24 seconds for ALL hand time conversions, hence why McCormack's time is listed as 3:44.84 for CIS records and Queen's all time performances (http://www.queenstrack.com/index.html/52,c,42,00.html ) and not 3:44.74. So, of relevance to McKenzie's recent performance, is that as far as all-time Canadian indoor rankings are concerned (http://www.athletics.ca/cmslib/general/2003%20All%20Time%20Indoor%20Rankings%20-%20MEN.pdf ), he will be listed behind Harvey Mitro with a time of 3:44.64+. However, his CIS record will be likely be recorded as 3:44.74+. It'd be so much easier if the FAT was working in Windsor last weekend!
