There was some interesting debate at the U 0f W high school meet concerning OFSAA's decision to not implement the new IAAf rule governing false starts. Can times from Ontario hs meets be used as qualifiers for National/International standards if the playing rules are not the same? Technically, AC doesn't have to recognize these times. The question is, will they or will they not?

I just received the following information from AO about OFSAA's false start rule:
"AO has not yet heard what AC's position is on this subject. They are checking with the IAAF re: possible status of performances achieved under the old rule. "In Ontario AO has decided to accept performances from meets using the old start rule for records, rankings, seed times, etc. for Provincial purposes. This will be reviewed at the end of the outdoor season. "AO is hoping for an announcement soon from AC."
I wonder why all of these consultations weren't done beforehand?
