victoriatrackseries.ca/athletes/Starting to assemble a few fastees for the Q's Victoria Track Series. A couple of western Kenyans - actually they are from Eldorat, I think, but hanging on the west coast for some time, racing a lot. A few other names.

Many thanks, wetcoast, for the wonderful photos and interviews, and mostly for doing so much work to get this kind of Track Series going again....Excellent stuff, my friend !!! Lucy and Marilyn are both wonderful women and athletes, and it is great to see them going strong into their 40's, and having such interesting and full lives. They should be role models for many of our younger female athletes. * It certainly appears that all those burgers and fries are ruining Marilyn ...  Gawd, what a cow !!! For those who didn't notice, there are a couple of photos of the great little 5000 m. all-comers race, that we hosted in Victoria several years ago. In the action shot, Trevor O'Brien is in 1st (the rabbit), followed in order by Eric Kiauka, Steve Osaduik, Eric Findlay, Simon Whitfield, Steve Murenbeeld, David Jackson, Kyle Jones, and Steve Bachop. Whitfield cruised to an easy victory in about 14:15, ahead of Kiauka and Osaduik. Great "pickup" race... |

Yes, I took the photos I am using on my camera...  ) just in case you are wondering where I scooped them from. So that is at UVic 5 minutes from the track where the series will be held at. Bruce Deacon had an injury then, so was watching from the infield. That was a good day.... Thanks on the words. |
