Is there a 5,000m race during or around the Harry Jerome meet? I think there is one in Victoria correct?

This track meet site is not updated yet, but happens in June: www.trackclassic.com/ Although I am not sure which distances are in this year however, there have been 5000m. This is a pretty good little brother meet to the Jerome. Sully, Reed, Armstrong, Dianne Cummins and many other have plied their talents at it.

Ha ha.
There are no set qualifying times yet, as it depends on the field that assembles. So runners on the fringe of the faster group, might get moved to open or if the elite field is small, then a better open runner may move up. There will be no finals, so if we ran two apparent elite heats or two open heats, the top 3 times win, not the top 3 in each race.
The series standings are competed by 10 year age-group, except 16-19 and 80 +. Individual races are by placing. The open races are mixed, so top 3 men and top 3 women. The elite races are not mixed, there will be separate male and female elite races, I hope that makes sense.
Although everything I do is subject to the possibility of change.

Sorry to bring up a 'rival' track meet series ... but I noticed that Burnaby Tuesday evening all-comers meets are scheduled to take place at Swangard this year. Does anyone know if there will be a change in the format, and how they will be looking in terms of depth (in terms of the good old days - 10 years or so ago, when a 1:58 seed time didn't guarantee a place in the 800 fast section).

Not a rival meet. It's all for the benefit of the running community.
