Since the plane was silent, not having an iPod probably wouldn't have made much difference, since he couldn't hear it anyways. I'm very sorry this guy died, but I don't think we can blame it on the iPod.

I've never heard of a silent plane but even if it was, the people on the beach running and screaming may have tipped him off had he not been wearing an ipod

It's actually right in the title, "Silent, falling plane kills man." It "had lost its propeller and was “basically gliding” as it hit and instantly killed Jones." So, he was hit quickly from behind by a noiseless plane, and so far none of the articles I've read mentions other people around screaming or anything. The outcome might just have easily been the same even if he wasn't wearing an iPod.

notice that this guy was already running. seems as though he picked the wrong direction

I think it shows that "jogging" is dangerous. This never would have happened if he was doing hard mile reps at the track.
