I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me find the results to the 1978 World Junior XC Championships in Glasgow? It was the year Canada placed 2nd after losing 1st in a tiebreaker. Thanks

anyone who went to Lausanne in 2003 for WXC would be able to help you out a bit. I don't think they would want to copy the results in full though.

correct me if i'm wrong but who the hell cares, it was over 20 years ago, which means judging by the intelligent remarks on this site, about 99% of you weren't born.

I care. I wasn't born yet but its nice to pay attention to those Canadians who represented in the past. I had the privilege to talk to some of the old timers at the Cambridge Mile this past summer and I learned a lot from them even though they competed in the 60's and 70's. Hopefully people will be inspired by the great performances of the past, and 4 guys in the top 25 at WXC Jr. is very impressive (even without the 23 year old Africans).

fuck, I love it when a heavyweight steps in and shuts up one of the "I got 754th at ofsaa" guys who know nothing about the sport.

well you asked to correct you if you were wrong so I answered your question. Its just showing respect for the Canadians who ran their asses off before our time.
Last time I checked I was a buck 40, hahaha.
Roger Bannister broke 4 minutes for the mile 50 years ago, people are still talking. Hicham mentioned Pavo Nurmi in his post-race interview after the 5000m last month. Hicham's parents weren't even born when Nurmi was racing.
as a sidenote, I finished 165th at OFSAA in Grade 11, I was aiming for top 150 but wasn't too dissapointed.

When someone like Paulins(who went on to win something like 4 or 5 OTFAs in a row) doesn't even score, you know you have a ridiculously talented team. I think he was a couple of spots ahead of Aouita. Maybe someone has that. Pretty sure Don Mills was coaching at least Earl.
