In addition to the usual suspects, there are several "new" Universities in B.C., and they are fielding some excellent teams in sports, other than Cross-County running. So, I am firing off some letters and e-mails, encouraging them to consider support for our sport. Here are the addresses:
University of the Fraser Valley, Department of Athletics, 33844 King Road, Abbotsford, B.C., V2S 7M8
Sports Info: Dale.Cory@ ufv.ca (Dale Cory)
Thompson Rivers University, Department of Athletics, 900 McGill Road, Kamloops, B.C., V2C 5N3
Sports Info: lread@ tru.ca (Larry Read)
Trinity Western University, Department of Athletics, 7600 Glover Road, Langley, B.C., V2Y 1Y1
Sports Info:" ssstew@twu.ca (Scott Stewart)
If you care, send on a letter/e-mail of support.

I was on the track/xc team at trinity western in the 90s. The program lost funding and folded in approx 2002 I think.
The AD hired a decathlon coach to handle everything (distance, sprints, jumps, throws and even XC). the theory was that they could save money and offer a program that any athlete could compete under, as opposed to starting with one coach who would focus only on a specific area and then build the program over the years to add more events.
the coach was a great guy, but he did not have the skill set to handle that many different groups of athletes. IMHO if they had started the program around one event group, the energies would have been much more focused and sustainable.
Ron- I wouldnt say Trinity western is "new". It was founded in the 50s I think?

Douglas College (my employer) has a XC team; I'm not exactly sure how serious it is, but I saw a team photo in the hallway!
