You can get reverse osmosis machines integrated for houses? I always believed that drinking water from the city water treatment facility is perfectly fine for drinking. If it is chlorine that you are worried about, a granulated activated carbon (GAC) filter (Brita) should be efficient at removing chlorine ions if you replace the cartridge often enough. But it looks like a RO machine has to have a GAC system as well. It just seems like this process would be expensive for the desired results. Also this process wastes a lot of water in the effluent stream. This could be a problem when cities are trying to conserve water. What if you use rainwater harvesting with a reverse osmosis pump? That would be interesting. Attached is a feasibility study done on rainwater harvesting (http://cmhc.ca/en/inpr/su/waho/waho_002.cfm) Attachments:

Thanks for the CMHC link Snider, that was pretty kool!
I went with a 2 stage carbon filtration system instead of the SISOMSO as our Kingston friend says..
I would consider the rainwater system in the future -

He took the thread to its most literal interpretation and spelt "osmosis" backwards.

In our "running household" we consume more than our share of water in plastic bottles, runners seem to be more friendly to the environment and who better to ask this question to - I got my answer?! so, "letsrun" away now..

I don't get why you put running household between quotation marks. Does your house literally pick itself up off the ground and run from place to place?

No, what he's trying to get at is that it runs in the sense of a river or a nose. His entire house is made up of a viscous fluid that spontaneously moves towards the ocean.

Grab yourself a Kleenex then chief. I know the stuff from my nose ends up in the trash, not the ocean. That's prolly why he's having this problem in the first place.
