Goes without saying but that's a near stellar result for Mo Ahmed, lets hope he can continue the success at Terra Haute as well.

Maybe Canadian Justin Marpole-Bird can challenge for the win as well, he wasn`t too far behind his teammate Derrick at west regionals.

Hard to predict this one but depending on weather:
There should be groupings of contenders consisting of (people I am watching for at the least):
Group 1 Derrick Chelenga
Group 2 Hassan Mead (could be group 1) Justin Marpole-Bird Elliott Heath Ben Cheruiyot Jeff See German Fernandez John Kosgei Barnabas Kirui John Beattie Hillary Bor Felix Kibioywo
Group 3 Colby Lowe Mohammed Ahmed Jeff Thode Luke Puskedra Trevor Dunbar Matt Leeder Tommy Betterbed Cory Thorne Solomon Haile Dorian Ulrey
There are so many good runners in NCAA XC finals and it should be interesting to see how these runners perform relative to each other.

The predictions on NCAA Div. 1 is always a crap--shoot as firstly, the talent is astronomical.Watch a film and see how there are 90-100 packed like wolves at 1km. in sub 2;50.Obviously, it settles into FIVE or six packs by 4--5km. As for individual predictions, what complicates the issue is that many harriers have not met in meets or ran Regionals easy.Remember, the 9 day spread is tough.Having been at both Big Ten and Pac 10s,Justin IS much improved, but top 16 will be tough for him.The Wisco team is pumped and under-rated which is good.Landon Peacock and Mohammed will both be in pack 2 or 3 early and then into pack 2 @ 8km. hopefully. It shall be interesting. On the Womens side,it might be a tough win for UWash. w/Sheila and Villanova running well but it all depends on #5.I believe Oregon to be 3rd.It is great to see Kate Van Buskirk back into the pack @ Regionals. The top 2 women are in a league of their own but there shall be 4-5packs by 3km.Also,weather supossed to be 13--15c so the Africans LOVE this which is a HUGE factor--HUGE!!

On the women's side: Washington and Villanova 1-2. Not sure Oregon women have the 4 & 5 runners to be 3rd. Watch out for Florida, Colorado, and Florida State. Picking FSU's Susan Kuijken to take out Jenny Barringer and disappoint the likely crowd favourite.

Womens side: Jenny B for the win. UWash team win.
Mens side: Derrick over Chelenga with 800 to go... and give to Wisc due to the stellar freshman Ahmed (top 15)
Side note: huge performance from Justin M. Bird (top 10)

Hard to predict this one but depending on weather: There should be groupings of contenders consisting of (people I am watching for at the least): Group 1 Derrick Chelenga Group 2 Hassan Mead (could be group 1) Justin Marpole-Bird Elliott Heath Ben Cheruiyot Jeff See German Fernandez John Kosgei Barnabas Kirui John Beattie Hillary Bor Felix Kibioywo Group 3 Colby Lowe Mohammed Ahmed Jeff Thode Luke Puskedra Trevor Dunbar Matt Leeder Tommy Betterbed Cory Thorne Solomon Haile Dorian Ulrey There are so many good runners in NCAA XC finals and it should be interesting to see how these runners perform relative to each other. I think your assessment is pretty accurate for the most part, but you forget Jordan Chipangama and David McNeil both top 7 guys, like heintz mentioned the weather should be good, giving Alabama's squad of Kenyans a great shot at giving Stanford and Ok State a challenge for the top spots. I also think Hassan Mead should be in Group 1, I would not be surprised to see him beat Derrick considering he beat him in the 5k Stanford meet, in a very tactical race to win in a respectable time of 13:28. I don't think Jeff See is a Group 2 guy more like a Group 3, and Puskedra should be also be a Group 2 guy, considering he finished 5th last year as a freshmen and you also forgot about Ryan Vail of Ok State and Ryan Sheridan of Iona both potentially top 10 My predictions are 1. Chelanga 2. Derrick 3. Mead 4. Jordan Chipangama 5. David McNeil 6. Heath 7. Puskedra 8. Fernandez 9. Sheridan 10. Ryan Vail 11. Barnabas Kirui 12. Brandon Bethke 13. Felix Kibioywo 14. Dorian Ulrey 15. Justin Marpole- Bird 16. Landon Peacock 17. Andrew Bumbalough 18. John Kosgei 19. Mohammed Ahmed 20. Colby Lowe Women: 1. Jenny Barringer 2. Susan kuijken 3. kendra Shaaf 4. Sheila Reid 5. Bizzari These are just my opinions.

Pre-race we all are of course guessing as per weather factor etc.Plus, in every NCAA meet there are "sleepers' on both men's and woman's races. On womns side,Costello always peaks right as does Babcock.I don't see Sheila beating Mel Lawrence (or Babcock).Kendra has never beaten Bizzari who was beaten #Wisco meet by BYU girl and @ Big Tens by the Penn State steepler.Remember, the teams that RACED Regionals shall feel the wrath. That is the Villanova unknown factor.remember when Webb chased Boaz @regionals and blew up @ Natls.XC. FYI @regionals,Kendra and the Washington top 5 packed--she made a move and nobody responded.Hasay looked fried @ finish

I checked NCAA.com but nothing there indicates it will be streamed live. Are you sure it will be? Do they always stream live video for all championships?

They've done it for XC at least the last two years. NCAA.com itself wasnt the one doing the streaming though. I can't remember exactly where...

Not sure what happened with Jenny but it looked a lot like what happened to a lot of runners at OFSAA. They got light headed and fainted or dropped off severely.
Villanova wins womens title that's Sheila Reid's team!
