tiss runner liam , lost his shoe 400m in , and ran the whole race until the finish , when one very kind person threw him his shoe at the last "hill" by the finish and he slammed the shoe down to finish, he also now has a ankel with at least 7 spike scares on it , a pure champ right there

alot of top runners dropping from races, and alot of pre-ofsaa times faster then winning times.

Ya, the shoe thing isn't that weird. The deer thing is just surreal though.

lots of runner had bad races this year one race was the Jr girls most of the top runners got injured during the race. Shelby Kent from Tiss hurt her ankle and many others fell on the down hill. to me this course was dangerous for our athletes. the only weird thing was the deer every thing else was just the course being slippery.

Indeed a weird day! My daughter was the girl hit by the deer about halfway through the midget race. Thank you very much to the parents near her when she got hit for immediately tending to her. By the time i got back up the hill the ambulance was already there. Quite a first OFSAA!! The deer apparently bounded out of nowhere obviously spooked. My daughter remembers seeing its face as it ran into her. She is recovering at home from a broken collarbone, several scrapes and bruises etc. and she is mostly angry that she could not finish the race especially after conquering the mammoth hill!
Thanks again to the kind folks who looked after her, an OFSAA that none of us will forget!

For me the finish line could of been designed a bit better. The final straight was narrow for final pack sprints.
The police camper was a nice menacing touch ... but what about finish line herding?
Runners continually stopped at the line, passed out, barfed, etc the usual stuff but real organization on getting the runners away and moving down the line was not to be found.
Andrew Kowalsky and Ross Proudfoot tripped over and basically trampled a Robert Denault who was laying on the ground.

I never new that deer were visious They're not .... but obviously when they're spooked they just put their head down and run like hell which is not a good thing if you're a grade 9 girl who happens to be in the way of a much heavier and more powerful animal. I've actually seen a mother deer chase a coyote and kick the hell out of it when it was stalking its little fawn but that is a different situation altogether.

"Slippery" - yeah that dry sunny weather will do it every time. "Dangerous" - I guess you prefer a nice flat golf course with perfectly manicured grass. This is XC - long live Boyd !
