Does anyone want to agree that if we didnt have that 30 minute delay, it would have been a better race for about 85 percent of the field?

What was the delay for? I read elsewhere that a girl got hurt, but why did that delay the race for so long?

Why the delay? These were the casualties from the senior girls race...
1. One girl needing oxygen at the finish line and needing an ambulance 2. One girl puking at the finish/passed out 3. One girl passed out at the top of the hill needing an ambulance 4. Caileigh Smith apparently was the girl injured near the entrance to the park. Was in second when she just passed out, fell and fractured her hip on the fall. Ambulance and firetruck called. 5. And one or two other girls fallen on the course in the first 2Km....
Let's just say medical was stretched very thin during this race. They couldn't start the race because Smith was on the course and they couldn't move her till the ambulance/medical showed up. She was hurt pretty bad from the looks of it. Makes you wonder why so many girls senior girls were passing out. It was a perfect day for racing...

There was a girl who collapsed just past the bridge on the first loop on the little hill(likely one of the number 5s you refer to). She needed oxygen and an ambulance too. Took until the end of the race to get her away. I am guessing in a lot of cases it was the flu. It was also actually a bit warm relative to what it has been. Got up to 15. I don't think people really appreciated the temperature given how many were way overdressed. Any senior boys who are worried about how this all impacted them should probably calm down.

If im not mistaken, katie o'hagan, colleen hennessy and kristen allen were just some of the runners that didnt finish, all couldve been in the top 20 for sure, if not top 10.

the delay effected 100% of the field. It was not a disadvantage at all because everyone had to deal with it. Could people have performed better? maybe.

going off our time the delay was 48 minutes. it was a bit of bad luck and somewhat bad planning to the organizers. i mean they had an ambulance and a back up ambulance. but then both 1 and 2 had to leave, hence why we say the fire truck cause a race could not start with out the emergency response team there so its kinda a bit of bad luck and also... its boyd! GREAT COURSE bad location! ultimately the sr. boys race was fantastic. alot of disappointing DNF's however.

I happened to be at the entrance watching the Senior Girls race when a girl in about 17th just dropped at the ditch just before the road. It was not pretty. I was recording the race with myphone. She was out for two minutes but there was a police officer and other officials there right away. She was wearing blue. No one passed out before her at that location. I don't think it would be right to post it though. I think a lot of kids try and do somethingdifferent like not eat/drink the day of the big race. Big mistake. You should do the same routine that you always do. A 30 minute delay wouldhave rattled me when i was in high school unless you realize it is the same for everybody.

It is not offensive in any way. I am sure the girl who passed out would not mind. It is not like your are insulting anyone. If anything, it would emphasize the importance of pre-race hydration, nutrition, and the effects that illness can have on the body if you choose to exert yourself too much while ill.
