Anyone know of a good formula to convert s/c times to regular times?

I would be really surprised if they had a steeple chase conversion formula, let alone a good one based on how much your hurdling technique affects your time.

this is a point conversion chart - not a time conversion chart

A standard rule of thumb - your 2-mile time will be fairly equal to your 3000m steeple chase time if you have decent hurdle form.

Just outa curiosity, how much time does decent form take off? Is it only a 1-2secs per lap or is it more substantial. *Compared to someone who steps on/has poor form.

I would say someone with bad form would lose 1sec per hurdle compared to someone with good form

this is a point conversion chart - not a time conversion chart It does both and I have found if you are properly trained for each event in question, it is reasonably accurate. 10 minutes would convert to 10:24.

Ok, I have THE WORST hurdle form you've ever seen and this thing is way off. My 8:23 3km PB (I also have an 8:21 from Dalplex, which we all know doesn't count) gives a steeplechase of 9:15. How is it that someone with terrible form can have a PB 23 seconds faster then mercier would indicate? A more realistic conversion is something like 20 seconds difference if you're a good hurdler. If you're neither a good hurdler nor very strong then the time difference will be (much) greater.

Mmmm. I have found it definitely is pretty good with similar longer distances but given my approximate 1 inch leg lift, I sure can't comment on anything steeple related from any personal experience.
