Alberta won the womens but not the mens. We were 3rd, 3 points behind winners Calgary and 1 point behind 2nd place Regina.
Kelly won the mens race in 31.20

Course was quite flat, although rather muddy in sections. Sunny, no wind, maybe 5 C.

I put results up on my website but the file I got them in was a bit of a mess so let me know if there are any mistakes and I'll get them fixed. I had to guess on which Thunder athletes are actually UofA athletes so hopefully for the top 7 runners for both UofA teams are correct, after that it doesn't really matter. Also, just for interest sakes, I did a separate university team results page too. To the best of my knowledge, CIS team results are scored using only people who have scored for a full team and of course only the top 7 for any team would affect team scores. If I'm wrong, let me know. runningsolutions.shawwebspace.ca/pages/view/2009_saucony_run_alberta_xc_seri/

Props to Jodi Souter for another AWESOME race.
Are Calgary women doing ok? Has the team been hit by the flu??? I'm a bit surprised that even their top women were well over a minute behind Jodie!

Regina whoops Calgary in the university only results by 7 points, also they sat out their usual #5 Eric Benjamin. With Wiebe rounding into shape and Fyfe showing his best form of his university career could the Cougars sneak into the top 3 at CIS? I definitely think that's possible if they all step it up on the day.

could the Cougars sneak into the top 3 at CIS? Maybe... But then again Benjamin has a stress fracture so its doubtful with their 5th running 36:57.

Where did you hear Benjamin has a stress fracture? I've heard differently but you were there first hand so perhaps you have better information than I

Calgary women were missing #1 runner Katie Fenton (sick) but the others are all fine - perhaps a bit too conservative through the 1st half.

Harry talked to Eric at the course yesterday. He was out supporting his team. Eric does have a wee bobo, but he'll be running CIS all out, no question.
