I conducted an interview with retired Largo (Florida) Coach Brent Haley in late August and followed up with a lengthy phone call. The legendary coach's Largo High School boys' cross-country team were Florida 4A State Champions ten times. During the 16-year period from 1969 to 1984 which was during the U.S. running boom his team finished first or second 15 times!
