I understand it can not go up hydro, it would be difficult to organize as it would require quite a bit of single track running to get there.<AP>
I think it would be neat to do some wide open stuff then cut into the trails behind the tennis courts once things thin out and then do the loop down the back trail and up the portion that is about 2/3 of the way up hydro hill.......you get a bit of both that way.
It's a bitch for repeats, but a whole lotta toughness came outta that hill!

I remember being a young lad and watching my big brother (formally known as Skinny Vinny) and his friends run on that course. I was busy looking for golf balls but I can remember A LOT of rock. I don't recall "flat sections".... Flat space I think consisted of maybe 100 metre at the start/finish. The rest was all hills. ALL hills. And the downhills all ended in hairpin turns, so you had to go slow on them. To say it was ridiculous is an understatement. There were a few narrow sections, but not too much. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad in design (fairly scenic), just brutal. Clearly your definition of a bad course and mine are on two different spectrums here. The more brutal the course the better in my opinion- your description sounds great. This is cross country after all! Not cross the soccer fields and perimeters of parking lots without a hill in sight.

But what I had a problem with is that it seemed designed specifically to go slow, which is not the point of cross country. It's suppossed to be across many different terrain. Being all flat soccer field is as bad as all hills. Variety is what makes cross interesting and challenging. Mud, roots, sharp turns, hills and grassy fields. That is cross; not just hills... i believe that, is called Mountain running.

If this justification fails, just know that I have already eaten a 20-pack of timbits and drank a bottle of iced tea using the 5$ Tim Hortons Gift card...so it will be impossible to reimburse 6th place. That made me laugh, thanks!
