Kirui has opened up a ~10-20m gap on Ishikawa but still ~650m back of Japan 6.15km in to this leg and 1:32:-- overall.

the work that has gone into setting up this course....rope and fence barriers, pylons...so many course marshals, closing the roads. lots of spectators too
