OKay boys here we go.. In T-minus 36 hours we will see the showdown of The BC Championships UBC Ftw I dont think SFU or Uvic have the depth Seriously? I really see no way that BC XC's can be considered a competition between UVic/UBC/SFU, being as their runners will a) be spread across different races and/or b) not racing. As has been pointed out, UBC consists of mostly juniors, which is not the case for SFU or UVic. While the race may be a focus for some of the individuals on the teams, it hardly looks to be a "showdown" between teams. That said, the true UBC/SFU showdown will be occurring at NAIA Regionals a week after BC's.

Unfortunately.. UBC was at a loss of team members to injury and red shirting so no team was entered. If our red shirt guy was to compete for us we would have won by 7 points and in a field of less than 30 that is quite a feat. The real showdown comes this weekend in the city of 'a whale's vagina'- san diego where Im quite sure UBC will enjoy no dirt flying up in their faces from the spikes of ...SFU being ahead of them.

www.csusm.edu/athletics/media/crosscountry2009/mteamscores.htmSFU Funboy: "Man, somebody needs to post those conference results.... I don't want to seem cocky, but someone with a tnfnorth account really needs to post them... just don't trash talk too much" Ridiculous. Back in the day (Christ I'm old) these results would have been up on here about 30 seconds after they were made available, followed by merciless chirping of the vanquished foes. At least one thing hasn't changed: SFU still lays the boots to UBC.

Could somebody on the west coast go check up on the boys at "Canada's Prodigy Building Dynasty Capital", it seems to have gotten eerily quiet over there after about a month of (bad) trash talk.
I am no longer on the team, so all I can do is sit back and be proud of the boys on the mountain. But I wanted to thank the mouth pieces at ubc, because now everyone on the internet can share in that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you see someone run their mouth and then have to jam their foot in it.
An entire self created thread about how amazing ubc's dynasty is going to be? This is everything a bystander could hope for. Thank you ubc, and I look forward to many more months of you "ruling the naia" (aka - "crap, we're the 2nd best team in our area code")
Never touch the trophy after the conference finals boys (unless you're crosby and too cool for tradition), good luck at nats.

I believe one golden star goes to Mr Symonds for calling this in September...
Seriously though, this new conference thing blows - regionals used to have like 150 people in it now there are four teams?
Depth counts for nothing in this glorified dual meet. Let's see of these three teams who comes out on top at NAIAs.

Just thought I'd take a second to point out that once again, when it mattered most, the SFU men (6th) finished ahead of the UBC boys (9th). Pretty great "dynasty" over there.

congrats to everyone. still going to say that 9th is pretty impressive for the guys at UBC considering Kerry was the only one who had ever run at NAIAs before (and that was as an individual)...
first round should go to 3,4,5 boys on sfu tonight for putting them back in a great position in that last 2k... they moved.

Congratulations are in order for the Kevin Friesen- led SFU team this year. But with UBC having tough-as-nails freshman Luc Bruchet right on Kevin`s heels I would say that UBC has the foundation in place for a potential future dynasty (not that one runner makes a team but you can certainly build around him). I expect that next year SFU will have their hands full with UBC- should be fun to follow!

Just occured to me that with SFU going to NCAA and UBC possibly not switching, the current UBC/SFU rivalry may soon become extinct, or at least significantly changed - that would be kind of sad. Suppose they would still go head to head at some meets, like BCA championships.
