I think the team title should be close between St. Georges, Oakbay and im sure who else has a strong team this year except for Kwantlen Park ive heard they have a strong team in place with Justin Kent leading them and being one of the favorites for the individual title

St. Georges, Oakbay will always be the top teams competing. Kwantlen has Justin Kent but can they find four more guys that can be top 50.

i know there is a couple guys that could very well be under the top 35 even and they just might have to find one or two more guys to go under 50 and complete there team

Thats it. 6 posts and BC is done with the predictions! Ok I will predict Justin Kent wins by over 30 seconds. Saints will probably win but Kwantlen Park places first in the Fraser Valley Championships and 3rd at BC's. lol That should get a few of you fence sitters a little more chatty. ;D
I do not know of more than Saints that have a strong team that did not loose many top runners last year.

Yes, Kwantlen Park will be at the race today. 2 of their top 5 or 6 racers will not be present but they have 9 senior boys on their team this year. Semi is a team that everyone should be concerned about. 5 boys on that team are training very hard this fall and are in great shape. Maybe not 6km shape but they are talented. Throw in a Williams and they are now looking great on paper. Kwantlen Park has 3 or even 4 in the top ten to fifteen this year at the Fraser Valley's and that will be very hard to beat. The 5th scorer will not be that bad but it could come from any of the last runners on the team. I do not know who Elgin has that will contend with either of those teams. This first race will prove a little but not all. Can Kwantlen still win without those two runners? lol

looks like Justin Kent and Connor Clerke both won easily this week. Kwantlen ran well (Justin Kent and Time Delcourt) , Elgin was strong 1 and 2 (Alex slade and Jake bruchet), but 3-5 ran poorley. Semi relied on strong team tactics to beat out elgin for 2nd place.
Pre Provincials are a week away. Who is coming?

Based on the Kwantlen Parks Senior Boys performances in training and the first two races I predict a top 3 finish for them at the BC's and a 1st place finish at the Fraser Valley's. 4 of their top guys will place very well. 2 in the top 10 and 2 more in the top 25 the 5th will place somewhere in the top 60. This team has the potential to take it all. In addition, someone is going to have to run lights out to beat their top runner. I don't see it. He is in 8:30 shape for 3km already. Now the posts are starting to roll in. lol

Interesting that he is still in high school at the age of 18. Are you sure he is still in high school? If he is it is not a bad prediction. I still think he will have to run lights out to win. The race could have just got a whole lot more interesting......

Is Justin Kent in too good of shape too early? Can he hold this fitness that 'he has' through until the meets that matter most? Will he last this whole season? Is his dad feeding him Flinstones vitamins? Nobody can forgot that Conner Clerke and that he beat Justin Kent by 25 seconds last year. Justin may have quicker track PR's but Connor Clerke is a better XC runner. And if that course is any similar to last year Justin will have much more trouble getting across the mud.
Also watch out for guys like Deon Clifford and Jake Bruchet, there coach seems to know how to peak his athletes at the right time. Top 5 is a possiblity for both these kids.
St. Georges will take the team title as up front they're as deep as anyone with Will Cliff and Christian Gravel, who also threaten the top 5 and they'll be more deep than any other team.

Now we are starting to stir things up a bit. No, Justin is far from peeking. 85km a week, plus, can get you in real good shape though! No, no flinstones, his dad is feeding him turtle eggs. If you are looking for him to have a bad day for some other runner to win, thats to bad. Heads up, he is a much stronger runner this year. Not such a kid. He might have an off day but thats what racing is all about. He peeked just fine for the track season and holding that peek was no small task. If you know Justin, cross country is his event. He lives for it. Like all runners he is improving with time and hard work.
As for St's winning. That might be. Kwantlen has a fairly strong team. 4 years in the making and a young kid that will also be one of the top 10 runners at the BC's. It will depend where Gurjit (also improved a ton) and Geoffrey finish. They are both very capable of a top 25 finish. The fifth, as I have mentioned will be the kicker.
To be honest, there are 5 or 6 kids that have a real chance of winning this year. I don't count any of them out. If any of the kids are also running in the club championships the week before they will be vulnerable. Three tough races in 9 days is a tall order for anyone. Those that are wanting to make a BC team or National team will be trying to run through the High School championships. You can't do it all without a little help, as well. Let the games begin

You cannot forget the key Sr. on the St. George's team. Azar Chatur placed in the top 25 last year and should be capable of producing something very similar this year. There top three on there team are very strong and I agree with the fact that after that nobody can match there depth

Just a reminder that pre bc's are this weekend.
My prediction to win the team title is St.Georges, with oak bay second and Kwantlen third. Fast runners up front always look good, but championships are won and lost with runners 4-6. Just ask the # 5 and #6 from walnut Grove girls 2006.
Sorry elgin, I think you are 1 athlete away from being a very strong contender unless worsley can bring some soccer player out of the woodwork.

Yes, Pre BC's are over and they did nothing to cement St. Georges as the outright team contender at this years BC's. Theye have three strong runners and a forth if Azur can race himself inshape before Nov 7 but their 4 and 5 runners could potentially cost them, big. It may come down to how many runners place between their last one or two runners and the Kwantlen Parks 5th. They now look like they could be very dangerous.
