For some reason, I didn't list 30km in those rankings. Mine is 1:41-also ATB.

SI,
Out of interest, was your 2:25 the same year as your ATB 1:41?

2:55 skuja (pacing, so he says) LOL, I swear it's true. A firiend of mine wanted to break 3hrs, he bonked in previous attempts, going out too fast. So I said "I'll pace you to half way". We got to half in 1:27ish and I said "this is fun, I'll finish it with you." My PR Half is 71:11 (age 34), but my 20k "equates" to around 70:00, I think.

SI, Out of interest, was your 2:25 the same year as your ATB 1:41? Did a 2:25:41 in late Oct/83 fairly easily(easiest of all my pbs) on moderate training so I did what any normal person would do and jacked my miles up from 85 to 107 miles plus per week to try to go sub 2:20. That 1:41 was in the middle of that. Ran right through it-96 miles that week and 476 that month. Went out at a 1:37 low pace and pb'd en route all the way from 10.1 to 21.1km but had the same experience with the escarpment as skizzy did except the entire bottom of my foot was also a massive blister. All those miles eventually led to the inevitable injury and I ran that 2:25:08 later that year on one leg basically. Until then, I had been training with and holding my own in races against my training partner, Rick Mannen, who went 2:19:40 in the same race. That was my third and last marathon. Thankfully, I got the whole ridiculous marathon thing out of my system. I set a bunch of pbs 8-9 years later when I was in my mid thirties(which by the way is not old in any way, shape or form-don't know why anyone would think otherwise-completely unremarkable).

Gee, I think that was meant for me. I put those ages in because a lot of youngsters here will hopefully see that mid30s is when you can be at your peak, so take the long term view, and don't think that Grade 12 and OFSAA is the be-all-end-all. Also, coming from a decidedly non-Olympian type runner, you don't have to quit in grade 12 just because you aren't "good enough". You can enjoy a wonderful running career, so to speak, at any level.

SI, Out of interest, was your 2:25 the same year as your ATB 1:41? And if anyone has any connection to the organizers of ATB, I have been trying to get this link fixed for years: www.aroundthebayroadrace.com/stats/agegrouprecords.htmDanny Verschoor ran 1:43:18 in 1984 which is WAY under the record time on that site for under 19(and Dannny was also only 17 at the time too-ran it on a whim).

Okay, I'll add in, if only because I've noticed lately that memories or runnings-past are beginning to really fade - one of these days I'll likely no longer be able to recall what I ran back in the last millennium:
800: 1:53 something 1500: 3:47.1 (my one outdoor 1500 post-high school) 5000: 13:53 5000: 13:56 (road, Virginia in 1987 or so) 10000: 29:17 (I think - I never ran a good one either on the track or road) 10000: 29:11 (Elizabeth River Run, Virginia 1988 or so) 1/2m: 1:04:31, Las Vegas, the non-downhill course from 1991, just a few steps ahead of Rono 1/2m: 1:00:22, Fontana, off a cliff, straight down for 21.1 kms marathon: 2:14:31, Ottawa in 1989

Born in 1977 so you can do the math for my age.
100m 11.7 (FHS hallway) circa 2001-2 400m 56.7 (relay) late 90s, could be made up, actually...I only have a vague recollection 800m 2:01.9 (relay) 1998 1500m 4:09.1 1998 3000m 8:45 2005 5000m 15:43 2005 10k road 32:44 2005 (32:32 cross, pretty sure it was short 2004) half 1:13:59 2004 marathon 2:43:59 2006

Also what the heck. These were done in the mid 80's but I went to 15 consecutive National Championships. As a Master I am still able to hobble and have clocked 53.8 in the 400m and 2:04 in the 800m
I was third in my own apartment when these times were clocked 400m 49.2 600m 1:19.88 indoors 800m 1:51.73 1000m 2:27.63 indoors 1500m 3:51.56 1600m relay 3:13 BC team 1992
Best performance I remember was my opening leg in 1984 at the Milrose Games 4 x 800m - Canadian record time. 7:32 (UBC)

Maybe you can get them to spell Bill Rodgers' name properly now too? ---- I have a beer mile time - 8:21, run on a wounded foot. Also, I forgot I've got a decent (for me) road mile time of 4:31 from the Bridge mile in Halifax, Yeah, I know it's a net downhill (maybe 20-25 ft?), but you have to climb a big goddamn hill in the middle too.
