I have been really impressed with how Michael East has been running this year as well as how Ivan Heshko (the best finisher in the sport) has been running as well, looking at their progress it is not inconceivable that some of Canada's young guys who are around 3:40 Brannen, Hayden, McKenzie, Benninger, Woods, Coolsaet, etc. Could be competing for Medals in 4 year. Michael East's PBs as of 2000 1:48.95/3:40.13, he basically took of 2 seconds per year along with having the support of his governing body to send him to Commonwealth games which he won despite having a very slow PB compared to the rest of the field. East's progress www.tilastopaja.com/db/atm.asp?ID=30319Heshko likewise 1:49.7/3:38 in 2000 www.tilastopaja.com/db/atm.asp?ID=18350. Just a little hope for the future of middle distance running in this country not their isn't plenty of hope all ready.
