Less than a week to get those picks in! Perhaps this link will influence your picks: mba.tuck.dartmouth.edu/pages/faculty/andrew.bernard/Executive%20Summary%202004.htm"...Japan and Canada have lagged far behind what would be expected given their resources...Similarly, ... Canada continues to fall short in the Summer Games, winning fewer medals than the Netherlands or South Korea, countries with smaller populations and smaller economies." The authors predict 13 medals for Canada this year, 2 of which will be gold. They had a success rate of 96% in '00.

I couldn't help but notice that Morocco wasn't on that list to win a medal. So I guess no Gerrouj.
Also, they have Kenya winning 4 medals. I havn't counted or done research, but you can excpect a Kenyan to win a medal in each of the 800, 1500, 5000, 10000, 3000 s/c and the marathon. They may even get a couple medals in some of those races.

Hey Scotty Mac,
I'm assuming your pick's need to be post-marked by the start of the Olympics to still be eligible for the contest? (ie. Aug. 13th).
With all of this drug crap going down, I figure it's probably a smart idea to make your picks right before the games start...
Thanks,
TRENT

What's up Trent?
Actually, I made the deadline the start of the track events in Athens, which I believe begin on August 18th. Tell Cantin and the rest of the Graceland boys that I will be awaiting their picks, and I better see a few nods for Sully on those forms.

Looking at the article and list, it also lists Ethiopia as getting 5 medals and 1 gold. I see the Ethiopians getting more medals than that, and also Bekele will try to get 2 gold medals himself

Not that any of us need an excuse to watch the Olympics, but why not make it a little more interesting by entering our contest! Check it out at www.ottawalions.com. $10 and your picks is all we need. Entries must be postmarked August 18th (first day of track ) or before. Good Luck and Go Canada!

choose one athlete from each group.
does that mean you only choose who you think is going to win from each event listed?

If that was actually you Kevin who responded to that post that you would "be the luckiest man alive to make the final" that was gold....I'm still laughing. Gold Jerry!
