This Saturday, come and race in London at the 1st Annual Runners' Choice London Distance Festival.
This looks to be a fun and unique event that I hope many of you will attend. With the support of sponsors, there is $4,000 in prize money available between open 800m, 1,500m, and 5,000m events (also 5,000m racewalk and masters 5,000m). Prize money is male/female and goes $150/$100/$50, with a $100 performance bonus.
There will also be special guest presenters for the awards ceremony, such as David Bailey (first Canadian sub-4), and several Canadian and world masters champs. It's probably one of the few events around where the starter has run a sub-4 minute mile.
Some other features of the event include free on-site massage therapy and chiropractic treatment, numerous draw prizes including Brooks merchandise and free massage therapy sessions
A cool race t-shirt will be sold at $15, and with each purchase you'll receive a free race booklet and water bottle. If you don't like race t-shirts, you can purchase one of the luxury-edition water bottles at $15 and receive a free race booklet and t-shirt.
A tentative schedule has been posted online. Photo-timing has been added. You can register as late as 1 hour before your event, but I'd prefer if you registered earlier so that the event can run smoothly.
