Steeplechase on June 30th in Ottawa...

There are steeplechase races scheduled on June 30th in Ottawa, 1500m, 2000m and 3000m. Which races take place depends on how many people show up.

Since runners in Ontario don't get many shots at running steeple races I thought maybe we could get a good one going in Ottawa that day. (That track is very fast) Since the deadline for National standard is July 4th, some senior guys could get a last shot at it. Anybody else who would like to compare their high school pbs and high schoolers trying to beat their pbs could run 2000m. Girls could also run a 1500m steeple.

I am now making it official!

Anyone interested in running a fast steeple (1500, 2000, or 3000, male or female), join us in Ottawa for our Twilight Meet on Wednesday, June 30th. If there are any other events that you would like to set up, just let us know.

The meets begin at 6:00 pm, and we are also featuring a FREE kids event (ages 13 and under) every week sponsored by the ING Run for Something Better Program that Bruce Deacon and Nicole Stevenson helped us out with at the ING Ottawa Marathon. So there is fun for the whole family!

Hello again,

In addition to the Steeple request, we have also had a request for a good 800m, and we may be adding a 400m for people trying to qualify for Junior and Senior Nationals. Anyone looking for some good races should try to get to Ottawa next Wednesday night.
