IF any of you have been following this story, The decision to whether or not Alistair Cragg will be allowed to compete in the 5K this upcoming weekend will be made on monday by the NCAA championship comitee. Personally I think it's bullshit. Let him race. www.hogwired.com/tablestory.asp?Home_ID=1&Story_ID=5809

if they let him race then anyone that is fast doesnt have to run at regionals, thus defeating the purpose of the regional meet. his coach is opposed to the regional meet and was just trying to see how far he could push the limits. last year he got mulvaney into the finals by using the same technique and I, for one, am glad the NCAA finally grew some backbone. sure, cragg would probably win the damn thing, but thats beside the point that he is trying to bend the rules to his own advantage.

Then punish the coach...not the athlete.

Here is the end result: "Arkansas has officially removed senior Alistair Cragg’s name from an appeal to the NCAA Championship Committee that would reinstate the six-time national champion into the 5,000-meter run at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 9-12, in Austin, Texas." www.hogwired.com/tableframe2.asp
