strong run by webb. he was in full control of the race from start to finish from wut i could see. i believe the time was 335(correct me if im wrong) but he had a good margin on the rest of the field. did any1 else see when they showed the results on tv that they showed sullivan as an american?
in the womens 1500 i believe it was Elmore(once again correct me if im wrong) that took off in a gutsy run but was just caught at the line. i was impressed by this, maybe she didnt have the finish in her, but it shows strong will and guts to take off on the field like that.

1500's were awesome but the highlight of the meet was maurice greene's 9.87 and then the subsequent rippin off his shoes and havin some aide spray them with a fire extinguisher
looks like he's fit to make a run for gold in athens

Mo Green's behavior was disgusting. The premeditated nature of his behavior should warrant backlash, not praise. Green's behavior was a disgrace to the sport. However, I guess we should not be surprised with his behavior, considering he was part of the US 4 X 1's antics at Sydney in 2000. I can only hope that it was some foreshadowing of the USADA extinguishing his athletic career. Whatever happened to winning with class. I guess the USATF and IAAF are to blame as they allow such acts to continue to occur. We need the NFL to govern the sportsmanship portion of our sport, not the WWE!

i dont think the general track fan even knows the home depot meet exists...so big deal whether its right or not, who cares, the fact is track popularity is not very high at the moment and with the overhanging drug scandal someone needed to ease the tension. this incident cannot hurt track publicity at all
but i do understand where you're comin from and i can see why some ppl could be offended considerin it was mo greene but this was in no way as bad as the 4x100 celebrations in sydney.

Personally I found it pretty funny. Whats wrong with having alittle fun once and awhile, to me it looked like the audiance loved it. I dont at all like the guy but come on now..that was funny.

of course the crowd loved it lol.. they WERE in the states. no matter wut they do they love it. just look at other sports like hockey. they won ONE tournament in the 80s and they make a movie and call it the greatest hockey accomplishment in the worlds history?!?!?! personally i didnt like wut he did. it just shows his immaturity. he couldnt just win, congratulate the other racers and just talk to some media. he had to make a huge show. no1 else at the meet had to do that and i dont think he should be supported when he does something like that.

Okay you are right about it being in the states..and their damn hockey movie...but hey whatever attracts spectators is good...any publicity is good publicity..unless its in reference to the whole drug thing. Obviously some people are gonna like it and others are gonna hate it. Thats life but im thinking next time he races some people will tune in just to see what he does next. Now I hate the guy dont get me wrong but that was just funny to me...it would have been much funnier had someone like webb done it but hey you win some and you lose some right?

I didn't see it, don'e like him and think it was hillarious. It's not like Canadians have never done anything... donovan raising the finger and possibly costing the world record in atlanta, robert esmie being wheeled out in a box a few years ago to the start of an indoor meet, and ponikvar(i think..) making some gestures at ofsaa in sudbury a few years ago after breaking the interscholastic high jump record (if the judges recognized what he was doing he might have been disqualified)
we need more of this.
side note: the stuff that they did in sydney at the olympics was definitly wrong and not the right place.

What Mo Greene did was AWESOME! There is nothing wrong with having a little fun in the sport. I don't see any of his competitors complaining about this and in fact if you watch the tape he hugs and shakes hands with several of them even after his stunt. What is wrong with the sport is the criticism that he takes for such a harmless stunt. Mind games play a large role in winning a sprint event maybe this is just his way of prepping for the olympics?
