I don't get it.
While I don't support much of what Bush has done or stands for beyond a small subset of foreign policy, why do you feel so strongly this needs to be posted on a track forum? Were you similarly motivated during the Free Willy tenure of Bubba Clinton? How about the endless reign of our own Liberal government who've shown a consistent ability to ignore common sense with regards to ethics?
This knee-jerk American bashing simply makes the basher look shallow.
You don't want to start a political debate here.

Perhaps oncearunner had an entry in the contest and wants to show everyone how creative he is. Probably not though.

Actually, I just thought it was something interresting and since many runners who visit this site live in the US for many months of the year, it might be of extra interest to them. and no, i did not have an entry in the contest.
Also, I can tie this into running:
Bush is a runner and I think it's pretty cool that the leader of a nation (especially one known for its obesity) is a runner. hmmm... it would be cool to see a commercial for an shoe company with Bush being the main guy in it...
maybe I will say sorry now...

If you move over to the main site-moveon.org-they talk about Al Gore and his speech in NY yesterday on global warming. Whether you believe in the science of global warming or not-his timing isn't the best given the cold wave currently over the east coast and willl sure to be fodder for the late night comics over the next few days. www.moveon.org/

it is my understanding that global warming is more than its name suggests. part of the condition creates greater weather extrema; i.e. hotter summers and colder winters. many people are under the impression that global warming just means the entire earth is getting warmer. more natural disasters and rapidly changing weather conditions are supposed to be a part of global warming. i will not start an argument on the validity of the theorem, but will say i do believe it encompasses many other important issues we are facing today - such as one in five north american children suffering from asthma. yay fossil fuels.

I understand all of that and that is why I qualified what I said. Joe Public doesn't and there were a lot of guffaws at Gore for giving that speech on a day in NYC when a 100 year old plus cold record got broken.
