Maybe the politicians are starting to clue in. I think its a case of 'too little, too late' www.tsn.ca/olympics/news_story.asp?id=80288www.tsn.ca/olympics/news_story.asp?id=80288(not sure how to do the hyperlink thing) If your serious about getting medals, you should focus on those athletes who are in the Top 10 - Top 30 world range, 2-3 years prior to the big events. I mean obvioiusly the VERY BEST athletes deserve extra cash, but how many of you think that an extra $5 g in May will put you on the podium come August? Again, Too little, too late, although better than nothing.

While I agree it won't make the difference between getting on the podium or not, it may help some athletes in actually getting to Athens. But the impact would be much greater had the money come, say, 3 or 4 years ago.
