Some of the best from the CIS were over in Italy this past week for the FISU world cross country championships. The fact that most of these athletes finished a gruelling indoor season less then 2 weeks ago, makes their results all the more impressive. www.collegno2004.org/RisultEng.aspGreat job ladies and gents!!! Rob -looks like they were having a great time Representin' as well (http://www.collegno2004.org/FotoGare/001.jpg)

Trying to avoid school work has found me posting on here a lot lately! Nice run by both the Canadian guys and girls. There doesn't seem to be any team results tabulated on the event's website anywhere. I'm sure they could be calculated by anyone fairly easily though. Women - 60 finishers, (apparently ~6.5km): 25 ASHWORTH Janice CANADA 23'20 29 GERRIE Shannon CANADA 23'27 30 WIGHTMAN Elizabeth CANADA 23'31 31 SLATER Shannon CANADA 23'33 54 WELLS Cassandra CANADA 25'13 And the guys, from a previous thread - 85 finishers, (apparently ~11km): 24 GILLIS Eric CANADA 33'43 38 YOUNG Brandon CANADA 34'23 48 GOSSELIN James CANADA 34'43 51 KENDRICk Nathan CANADA 34'48 52 BODIRLAU John CANADA 34'51 69 BOOTH Michael CANADA 35'37 Here's another good pic, of the Canuck women:

I was able to watch the races and the teams ran well. Gillis unfortuately lost his shoe at 500m into the race and he didn't get it back until a km or so later. He lost a whack of places and had to work his way through the crowds. I think a top 20 for sure but probably a top 15 place was doable if hadn't lost his shoe.
