results are starting to come in: www.iaaf.org/wxc04/results/Byevent.htmlbig race for morrison in the short course. great team showing in that race, too. a descent showing for the jr. girls, considering kohlmeier didn't race (rumour is she hurt herself a few days before leaving), and mckay ran a sub par race. women's long course should have started by now . . .

Morrison with an unbelieveable race, he was 1 second back of Sully and Cragg and beat Kenyan's 3 man. Could be looking at Olympic A standard this summer, but if you look at the intermediate results, he got out hard 18th place and just stayed there it is clear that at World's there is no time to play around. Awesome run Paul and the rest of the guys, the future is looking very bright for men's distance in Canada.

from martin goulet:
Racing conditions: Temperature today: between 8 and 10 degrees, generally windy to very windy at times. Wet course, muddy but not as bad as in Oostende 2001 or Belfast 1999. Steady rain for both the Senior Men Short race and Senior Women Long race. Rather difficult course in general – first 500m uphill and several sharp turns along the 2000m loop. In general, the most challenging course since Belfast 1999.
Women's Junior Race Team Canada came 12th with 221 pts. A total of 17 countries scored as teams. 2003 results: 13th with 188 pts. A total of 16 countries scored as a team. 2002 results: 17th with 250 pts. A total of 18 countries scored as a team. 2001 results: 10th with 210 pts. A total of 21 countries scored as a team. 2000 results: 8th with 184 pts. A total of 22 countries scored as a team 1999 results: 14th with 304 pts. A total of 19 countries scored as a team
42 Doetzel Danette 22:40 (+1:52 from the winner) [Note: our first scorer last year was 60th and in 2002 was 83rd] 43 Michelle Lynn Childs 22:41 (+1:53) 63 Holly Van Gestel 23:06 (+2:18) 73 Amanda McBean 23:23 (+2:35) [Note: our fourth scorer last year was 77th and 94th in 2002] 75 Tarah McKay 23:25 (+2:37) dns Alyson Kohlmeier (injured) 112 Finishers (100 last year in Lausanne, 108 in Dublin 2002 and 123 in Oostende 2001) Clearly our best results since Oostende 2001 for our Junior girls.
Men's Senior Short Race Team Canada came 6th with 128pts. A total of 18 countries scored as teams. We were only 9pts from 4th place Morocco but way ahead of 7th place USA. 2003 results: 11th with 157pts. A total of 19 countries scored as a team. 2002 results: 11th with 173pts. A total of 17 countries scored as a team. 2001 results: 7th with 187pts. A total of 26 countries scored as a team. 2000 results: 11th with 249 pts. This is our best team result ever in the Men’s Short race (6th) and also our best ever individual placing (Kevin Sullivan 17th). First non African country!
Women's Senior Long Race Team Canada came 7th with 161pts. A total of 14 countries scored as teams. 2003 results: 7th with 100pts. A total of only 7 countries scored as a team. 2002 results: 11th with 169pts. A total of 13 countries scored as a team. 2001 results: 12th with 233pts. Émilie’s 8th position is our best individual result since World Cross was changed to a two-day package (1998 Marakesh)
