Hi everyone. It sure doesn't seem like it, with the 15 cm of snow that has fallen in Steeltown today, but outdoor track is just around the corner.
We are very pleased to announce the dates for the 9th annual Hamilton Twilight Series at McMaster. Our twlight series has proven very popular over the years and we hope to offer a good selection of races for middle distance and distance runners again this season. Meet director Peter Self will be in charge and all races will be run on the track behind Ivor Wynne Centre on McMaster campus. Our track is arguably the fastest distance track in Canada and we hope that many of you will prove the point with the times that you post here.
1) Tuesday May 25th: 800m, 3000m, ** Marauder Invitational 5000m for men, 5000m for women.
**Details to follow with respect to cut-offs for invite sections. Calls for entries will proceed on tnfnorth.com and trackie.ca.
2) Wednesday, June 9th: 800m, 1500m, 4 x 800m relays
3) Tuesday, June 29th: 800m, 1500m, 5000m
4) Tuesday, July 20th: 800m, 1500m, 3000m
All inquiries re event fixtures should be directed to meet director Peter Self at: harbour-track@cogeco.ca
As it becomes available in the next month, information regarding the twilight series, entry fees, start times, and Marauder Invitational sections will be posted at the following website:
www-athrec.mcmaster.ca/athletics/teams/crosscountry
Follow the link to the Summer Track Series.
Looking forward to hosting you again this summer, cheers,
Brad Young

Thanks Brad
We will also be putting on a few twillight meets in Guelph and KW between Speed River and TCTC, the dates will be forth coming but there will likely be one in april, one or two in may and a probably at least one or two more, so somewhere around 4 to 5. These meets will be similar to the ones that were in Guelph two years ago as part of the Highway 6 series.

15cm eh? Nice. It was a nice 11 degrees out here today. Anyway.
Thanks Brad, I'll be there for the one on the 25th. Just booked my flight home and back.

I'm kinda curious myself.... Or was it the great lakes series that usually has those events? What are the odds of tossing in a 400mh or a flat 4?

Actually I would be quite interested in a steeplechase, seeing as I don't think I'll be able to fit one in to the short NCAA season.

We have not made a call for entries as of yet for the 5000m men's and women's invites on Tuesday May 25th. However, just to answer a couple of frequently asked questions. Also, an excuse to keep the posting on the front page...
All races that we host at McMaster timed using PhotoLynx.
Projected cut-offs for the 5000m invite sections are 15:09 (for men, like last year) and 18:20 for women. This is subject to change.
Last year:
1 14:14.11 Danny Tshidind Kassap UTTC 2 14:17.93 Reid Coolsaet Speed River 3 14:32.30 Taylor Murphy Speed River 4 14:32.79 Andy Hahn Windsor Legion 5 14:38.98 Charley Murphy UWO 6 14:43.30 John Bordirlau Windsor Legion 7 14:47.10 Matthew McInnes UTTC 8 14:55.42 Ryan Thomas TOC
Cheers,
Brad Young
