Chris, Although I agree that this new registered user policy has pretty much abolished random bashing, I miss the random chirping that went on before major championships that more often than not added a bit more dramatic flare to the events. In the old tnfnorth this whole week there would have been anonymous predictions and building up of sleeper picks that entertained and set the stage for the big events. So with the championships starting today, I'm gonna throw down a few of my own thoughts/predictions.
mens 600: Gill and Rmac both take home medals, however niether of them gold, i bet they burn each other out in the first 2 laps because mckenzie doesn't like anyone but himself to be in the lead and Gill will try to be on his ass the whole time.
mens 1bone: a.k.a. "The ryan mckenzie show", the next two medals will be decideded by sit and kick pack racing. Second place won't break 2:30 but will run 28 or better for the last lap.
mens 15: Gold and silver will go to mckenzie and gillis. Bronze will go to Caldwel, Blouin or Thorson, last 50 metres will decide it.
mens 3k: Gillis followed very closely by Young in a very impressive time. Will probably be the only mens distance race that everyone runs fast. I'm guessin 8:0-mid/high for both gillis and young. Again the last medal will be up in the air. Goose, Johnny B, Cleve, Blouin, Caldwell. All the aforementioned will be south of 8:25. I know this is a big prediction but it's a hunch. All of these guys have been very impressing over the indoor season and will step it up for the big dance.
4x8: I think it was davidson that said it best, there will be 4 teams within a second of each other going into the final lap, other than that I can't imagine what will go on. Can't wait to watch it though.
-See you all in windsor.
