I read the original post as saying that Woods had accepted a five-year "Canadian" athletic scholarship to attend U of Michigan. Does that mean that some Canadian "charity" provided the scholarship to attend only Michigan? Could it have applied if he attended a different school? Or is it a scholarship from U of Michigan?

Being a Canadian source (Canada.com), the amount of the scholarship given by the University is being presented in Canadian funds.
