I noticed the Runneymede guy at the Abbey Park Meet / IONA. I wondered who he was then I found out from results that it was Simon Hodge, good run for 2nd!. Runneymede does not have much of a school program so what club does he belong to and who does he train with? Just curious toronto olympic club. with the likes of kuternin, scheibelhut and company

"with the likes of kuternin, scheibelhut and company..." - simon was there before all of us . coachc, simon was really sidelined last cross season with a bad cold that he was never able to shake off, but this year he's looking quite strong and should be placed up there with berkis/juice to whom he's at least an equal. zain is no better then any of the other ropsaa guys... ie myself, kevin, and hussein zain is a tank at cross country - what he might lack in speed in the track he makes up for it when the distance gets longer. in cross country zain is hell to race - he'll surge all over the place and make it hard to catch him.

Berkis is WAY BETTER than Juice. They are not comparable in the slightest, please don't EVER use that comparison again! Lol

any one know what midget boys will be at pre-ofsaa on thursday? Answer= Connor Darlington and Daniel Mathie could be a good battle at Pre-OFSAA.. The one age group that I would pay special attention towards would be the Junior Boys.. Last year we had one of the deepest, fastest Midget boys age group in years and it is intresting to see who is in shape and who is not in shape and who is improving.. My pick to win next thursday > Jay Boychuck

After watching Zain at Abbey Park Invite ( IONA) I'd have to take him to win ROPSSA. As for MB Connor Darlington will be very tough to beat even if he has a bad day but then there's always guys that come out of the woodwork to excel at OFSAA.
The Junior boys race at Pre OFSAA will be missing a lot of the top guys according to the entry lists, no Janikowski, DevRies, Ballestrini, Hosier, Cakette, Proudfoot, Wynands, Patchette but Boychuck, Esselink, Azenhaus, Tiebert, Azocar, Gieser, Cunliffe, Kowalsky and Dillon among others will be there. Should be a good one.

Yes, sorry Blackjays, in my haste I somehow left off Merid, yes he is also one of the top guys who will not be there and while I'm at it Pesce and Spilsbury will also not be there and I'm sure there are others. it was just a quick list. As OFSAA 1500m champ Merid is a definite top guy.

Just adding names to the list coach.
Senior Boys, Mike Nealon goes from 19th OFSAA 06 to being predicted 14th for OFSAA 07 and Matt Kopansky goes from 20th OFSAA 06 - not even making the top 25. What was the difference between their times? 0.3. Just some food for thought.

(also very strong this year)

Azenhaus is the small kid from Michael Power right? I think he is running Senior .. They are just testing out to see if they can make some damange.. however running a grade 10 boy up as a senior is very physically demanding and I don't think it will bring a team medal.. This year Massey and TISS are top 2 and Some other school will make it Third.. I say they should send this guy back to run with his junior boys and don't mess with his confidence.

under8:45, give the Power coach some credit. He knows what he's doing. I think he did a pretty good job with Justin Duncan the last couple of years and many others in the past, eg, Kate Vanbuskirk, Mandy McBean, just to name a few. Two of his teams picked up the bronze at Ofsaa last year.

(M.Power) 9) 4th in UnS - - ?(Belluzo [11]) - - - - - 15.50+? (M.Power) 6th is fairly solid - prolly close to at least a top 3 at mustang. I would assume kopansky should be on the threat list for ofsaa as well; but i have not raced against him myself yet so i cannot guarntee he's in great shape - though im sure someone else here might be able to. How close was Nealon behind berkis at dwyer? prolly about as far as kopansky off berkis - id say theyre evenly matched more or less...

I want to beat everyone to saying that McKay Wilson could win midget boys. This name was mentioned on the preceeding OFSAA HS PREVIEW thread, and lead to debates over dirty running tactics his brother, Darcy Wilson was using in the past. If Wilson can stay with Darlington in the first 3-4k, he definitely has a prime opportunity at the win; but that may be a big "if." He is two for two in London area meets this year, handily beating Ian Turnbull. WAtch mE cRank it. WAtch mE rOll.
