If I'm not mistaken OFSAA XC in 1995 was on the same course as last weekend...does anyone have the results? My coach wants to compare times.
thanks

Fanshawe?
I think there is a thread about this somewhere.
I was 55th. Can't for the life of me remember how fast it was though.
So helpful, I know.

It was also at Boyd in 1989 (then Fanshawe in 1990 and Horseshoe Valley in 1991). Pretty muddy day in 89, if I recall correctly (which I'm not sure I do).

Is there anywhere that I can find those 93 result? Or results of ant XC meet on that course? (other that pre-ofsaa)

Aren't these the same courses that the Cardinal Carter meet uses every year? If so, check trackdatabase.

Aren't these the same courses that the Cardinal Carter meet uses every year? If so, check trackdatabase. I can't remember if they were the same in 1993 as they are now but I do recall that in 1981, the MB/SG course did things in a different order. You ran the hill first and then the loop across the bridge at the end just before the finish instead of doing that loop first. I think that this way definitely spread the runners out more for those sections with the roots that people were complaining about this year.

93 was the last year the SB course went across the river, from what I understand. Yes, across the river (no bridge, just through it). Somewhere there is a great picture of the guy from Michael Power running right down the middle, as he went too far and had to double back. That may have been TDCAA not OFSAA now that I think of it.

I have looked for full results for "all Boyd OFSAA XC events"; short of an FOI request ... I have found nothing on the Internet. There must be "full event/result records" ... don't really know who would manage/store/archive them however. It was also at Boyd in 1989 (then Fanshawe in 1990 and Horseshoe Valley in 1991). Pretty muddy day in 89, if I recall correctly (which I'm not sure I do).

I'm sure there are paper copies archived at the back of room 118 at St. Mike's (or wherever the renovations have moved the history class room to).

In 1993 the course was longer. They got rid of the river crossing that year to actually make the course less than 8K as per OFSAA. But once you went up the big green hill, senior boys continued for another 100m after which they turned left, went downhill and then up another really long hill which spit you out near the entrance of the park. The two challenging hills back to back really evened out the pack of runners quickly. So there is no way of comparing the courses....

1991 for example, Kevin Christiani of Neil McNeil and John Wassennar of St.Mike's (both top 7 at OFSAA that year) ran 25:25 and 25:32 on the Boyd course at the TDCAA championships respectively. And they were two of the top juniors in the country then.

I don't know if your dates are correct ... or mine Kevin Sullivan won OFSAA Boyd in 1989 as jr boy ... I think Kevin Christiani and John Wassennar were jr then also (but a year older?). I am sure Kevin Sullivan must of set the course record that year ... just a guess ?

This wasn't the first time. Kerr and Bendo went 1-2 as midgets as well in 1990.

They also had twin sisters (Arnells I think?) that did very well in that era. Were they a year or two older? Not bad for a little school in Wellington County.

It would be a great service if you could somehow get those hard copies online, XCrunner.

It would need about 3 or 4 gigs of memory to list all of the names in front of me at OFSAA. Not sure I want to see how far down I actually was. I do remember Grade 12 but I honestly forget my grade 13 placing. It wasn't pretty.
