To all of you;
Instead of giving you the dramatic version, i'll keep this somewhat tolerable..
During this summer, I struggled to find myself, as a person, and athlete. I had a lot of changes take place, alot of them were not good ones...however i won't get into them...
I lost the love, drive and admiration for the sport. I couldn't tie the shoes and step out the door for a run anymore without readily convincing myself to do so. I want to say how much courage it takes to make a commitment and stay with it, something i've never been able to do.
There exists few things in this world that truly define you, challenge you and taunt you all at once, i beleive they are running, love and religion. In which I have failed at all three.
Over the years I have had the pleasure, let me say honor, of meeting runners all over canada. To some of you - are a large part of my life. So i want to say a quick thank you for being there and encouraging me -
I under the alias of brad_ofsaa, grew to admire the attmepts this site made in the world of running. Tnfnorth exclusively developed my desire to run and get better, so chris moulton thank you.\
To the rest of you, I really sincerly hope you fulfill your goals, and make yourself proud. I will probably miss the adrenaline of a race, and the feeling of competing but I have come to many realizations that i don't belong in this sport.
Thank you friends for your time, its been a great couple of years.
Your friend always brad flynn

Lets not let this slip to far down boys. This is some serious stuff, Brads lying about having a girlfriend before and using that as a reason to quit. We all know hes quitting cause he doesnt want to have another fake ofsaa heart attack.

Ironic that you use such a quote under your nick name....as it seems to be that you broke....besides..who the hell cares, if everyone runner that couldnt hack it posted about quiting we'd never get anywhere...if your gonna quit then quit...dont go trying to make a big deal about it..clearly to everyone else its no big loss for track thats forsure. go home and cry some more or something.

I am Misses Brad_OFSAA, although I guess now I am formerly Misses Brad_OFSAA.
I am posting on this site because Brad asked me to post to validate the fact that he did at one time have a girlfriend. This is true, Brad and I dated on and off for quite a period of time, we were good friends before and we will continue to be great friends for eternity.
I wish Brad nothing but the best, and I hope that I am not the reason he quit the sport that he loved. I would really like to see him run competitively someday, as I truly believe he has all the talent in the world. When focussed nothing can stop Bradley Flynn, and we can only hope as Canadian Citizens that everyone could put the same kind of effort into their everyday lives as Brad did toward Running.
Brad, I miss you and wish you nothing but the best, I hope you find it in your heart someday to give this sport another chance.
xoxo

Wow, the legend is over. I dont think that anyone can say they won't miss brad_ofsaa. He was part of the sport to all of us! It's sad to lose a runner. When they lose the drive and the want. Goodluck in whatever you do Brad. Have fun in Peterborough!

I heard they cancelled all NCAA races, and the NAIA cancelled its Cross Country Championship. The big news is however, windsor fired its coach to hire brad.

I remember being one of the first people who bashed brad to hell when he posted his 8:40 3km prediction, do you all remember that? It was funny but also motivating. Im going to fill in to some of you, what you don't know about him and what he doesn't want you to know. I was a friend, but things got tangled now him and i don't get along, but nonetheless i owe it to defend his name.
Whover that girl who claimed to be misses brad_ofsaa isnt brad's gf, knor would he ever ask anyone to post something so obviously DEGRADING and rhetorical, i can't believe some of u bought that.. brad does not have a gf, and no he's not gay either.
This year he had problems with his health, he has a rather serious heart condition that nobody knows about yet you all seem to say (ofsaa fake heart attack) when he was hospitalized for a week and a half, then almost another month this summer.
Maybe he can't run because he doesn't like it, or maybe because its dangerous. whatever it is, he is and it pisses me off to say, a really truly nice guy, and a credit to the sport , because he has got alot of people involved and they have come to ofsaa medalist..( junior 800m silver medal).....
Brad goodluck

Brad, best of luck man- I'll email ya once in a while to see whats up!
Silver lining: The original topic of this thread has value, and does philosophize a sense of morality, you however are just a beligerant spectator wishing to have a slice of the cake. Furthermore i do not want to speculate anymore publicity on you silver lining, you are not the point of interest, more of a cowardice for posting anomynously-
brad- good luck with biochem @ trent cal stapes

well somepeopleschildren... I see you decided to post as a guest as well. and brad did fake it, and this post revolves around brad being immature and overdramatic, so what I had to say fits right in.

Listen silver lining,
What you say isn't helping, seriously mate why are you so calous (sp)? What he said, whether its drama or whether it serves a point, warrants no correlation of your negative thoughts, especially in a time where obviously he needs some sort of stability- you silver lining, are like the millions of other frowning faces, spiriling a continuous of negativity, beligerance (as cal said), yet most importantly silver lining; your hurtful. I have had the pleasure of being one of brad's coaches, and I know first hand what kind of upstanding student and gentlemen he is.
More disturbingly; you call out a fake "ofsaa" heart attack. Young man, where do you find the downright ignorance to muster a thought like that, with no warranted arguement. I am not about to discuss and facilitate health issues on this board, however the incident you referred to was not an example of prevarication.
Brad, i'm sure your reading this. Please do not take these judgemental comments to heart, understand that some people here just don't know you, and if they did- this wouldn't be the case for an apology.
Godspeed J. Small.

Ok first of all i don't know Brad at all. But with a psychology background, i know that bashing him when he is vulnerable is not a good idea. If he wants to quit for whatever reasons then let it be and wish him the best of luck. There is no reason to make his life more strenous as it may be (health conditions). If he is seeking attention then let it be. Some responces to his post are pretty sick. I guess some of you are too young and imature to respond maturley.

Man sorry about that post guys..I was a little drunk and feeling emotional, like look at how I spelled immaturely...Anyways Brad is obviously trying to get sympathy attention from whatever boy or girl dumped him and its sad that he feels it necessary to post on here and earlier in his career get caught lieing repeatedly...oh well some people have issues I wish you only the best brad
