dont worry about your spikes, you should spike up like you usually do. you do cross a couple roads and the bridge but they are not that long. If you dont spike up your not going to enjoy that course especially if it is wet and rainy even on a dry day by the time sr boys get to the hill it will be in pretty bad shape. the trails are pretty narrow so if you plan on doing well get out...you go out conservative your going to be caught behind a lot of people in very narrow trails especailly the one by the river on the opening loop. They said they are going to make it wider but there is a river on one side and a hill on the other. overall the boyd course it one of the greatest cross courses in ontario but may not get that recognition tomorrow because the rumoured 600+ athletes per race

Let's get serious here- if you're not wearing at least a couple 13mm at the front of your spikes you're not going to be in any of my predictions. Going up the wall, and more importantly coming down the mudslide they'll come in handy...hell, throw in some 3/4" just to be wild.

Thats because not a lot are...probably 15 or so known quality racers will show up but for the most part, it will be some talented runners but ones people hardly hear of because they dont make it out of their tough regions. And this race is setting up to be tainted if 600 or more racers are signed up to race. Many great racers like to start slower than they'll have to which will mess things up, and if the race is broken out into sections, who runs in each section may alter results. Having said this I'm anxious to see how everyone attending does, just keep in mind that pre-ofsaa results may be very different than what actual ofsaa brings.

No entries day of...actually no entries even up to the deadline because they made an early cut-off without letting anyone know. Lots of runners made plans to travel...no race to run!

In response to the spike comment. When I raced there at OFSAA in 1981 (it seems like a really long time ago!) I had 18mm spikes from old-style javelin boots in the front 4 positions and 12s in back. It had been very rainy leading up to the race so there were some really sloppy sections. I had no trouble with them and my race went about as well as a OFSAA race can go.
