Paula Findlay had an excellent 3rd place finish today, at the World Triathlon Championships, in the 23 and under division. Good luck to the rest of the Canucks over the next couple of days !

Tonight at 10:15 Pacific Time (hope I have that right), Whitfield, McMahon, Tichelaar and Jones are on the start line in Australia for the World Championships. Coverage online will be triathlon.org, and probably cbc.ca. On the not-quite-running thread, Victoria's Ryder Hesjedal won a tough mountain stage today at the Tour de Spain.

On Saturday the 19th of September, CBC Sports will be showing the 2009 Gold Coast World Triathlon Championship Elite Men's race from 5-6pm Eastern time. Thanks for the reminder. I hope they do a good job of showing the run, probably the best "tri." run ever. Simon was sub-30, and was 9th in the run. Brownlee went 29:04, and this course was said to be an accurate 10 K.

I watched the the Mens triathlon live on bold TV, well half of it. The run between Brownlee and Spanish guy was one of the best one on one running races Ive ever sen. Back and forth, neither would give it up, they both wanted to win so badly. Not sure how much of the run they will show, but if you have the time its well worth it. Cheers DD

Wow ! Brownlee is an amazing athlete. I'm thinking some of the older guys are scratching their heads and asking, "How are we going to beat this guy by 2012?"
