Other preds for you lads and lassies to consider ...
MB ... surely you are aware that Liam Wilson went toe to toe in Hershey 09 and is hungry for more in the 800. He should be in your top 3 for London ofsaa ... in front of the home crowd ....
JB ... 3 peat won't happen ... EK is quality but ... just as his dad did, someone will go after him ... memories of '83 ('82? v JC) RK ....
SB ... Thomas the tank will return ... this kid is special and will not disappoint.
MG ... don't know the field JG ... Stephanie Rigg is the real deal, look for 2 from this girl
Happy training

people like this are constantly bringing up these random names, sayin theyre gunna be sooooo good, and none of the these people ever do anything! so please stop wasting your time, i doubt most of these people will even make it OFSAA Just to let you know Mark won the Kentuky 8,15,3 two years ago when he was in grade 11, moved to Ontario that summer, couldn't run last year as per OFSAA rules,so he focused on training all last year and this year through xc.That's why he'll win not the fact that he already has a full ride to kent state, but that he's an amazing athlete. Look him up on facebook if you don't know him. They run the mile and two mile in Kentucky you dumb ****

I was really just pandering to Lukesteer to seems to have a man-crush on Woodfine. Nah, I'm just friends with him. I still say you'll all be sorry you doubted when track season rolls around Sub 8:00 for 3k is sub 4:00 for 1500 back to back. Is Woodfine's 15 PB sub 4 yet? Until that happens claims of sub 8 are ridiculous.

watch out for abdu zaghlol in the sb 3000. went to ofsaa as a grade 11 last year and ran an 8:50 with barely a month of training.

Can't forget DeVries in the 3000. Dont get me wrong this guy is AMAZING tough as nails he is but I think he will have trouble getting top 5 but if he does I will gladly take back this opinion.

to be fair, cunliffe made the final last year. to be realistic, that's about it.
medals tend to go to the guys with more endurance than speed, seeing as how prelims and finals are always on the same day. if denault running it, he'll prolly take the cake.

lol, long time away, ill have to watch some indoor races first to make outdoor predictions I agree. How can accurate predictions be made this far in advance? There's still lots of time for training, and we may be surprised by new runners.

i want to start off by saying that i must be bored out of my mind to post on an OFSAA track thread before xc is even over. NATS in one week boys. for junior eamon will not 3-peat. I personally think that with an 8:45 3k he will not get beat there and he is also very strong in the 1500. He will get beat in the 800. and since its so tight i will go as far to say 2 golds and 1 bronze. Look out for Nunez De-Susa (sorry for spelling), shawn master, and kyle penny (long injury took out his track followed by solid 2:02 3rd race of the summer). Senior men: 1500: Denault (convincing win over seleshi at Youths) 3k: Tristan if he runs..followed but janakowski/degroot/king Steeple: Degroot... followed by smith/dulhanty is degroot back from sem 2? yes he is

I wouldn't call dr1500's pred that far out there and i dont know why everyone is chirping him for them. They are his opinion and should be respected as with everyone other persons pred on this thread. Its very unlikely that a grade 11 will win the 800 this year as there are many strong grade 12 runners as well as some victory lappers such as: Paul Lamarra James Denny Paul Janikowski Merid Seleshi Chris Mediema BJ Cunliffe Andrew Cackette All of which ran in the 154-155 range last year. That being said it is much too early to be predicting medalist now.

In defense of Dr1500 here are the Sr Rankings from last year for the 800 (top 18 or sub 1:56). The ones in BOLD are returning. Among Juniors only Mohamed, Kyle and Rob would make the list so they are contenders but anyone on this list could win next year. Personally I'd give the edge to Miedema based on experience.

Its almost 8 months away it can be done, matter fact i will go as far as saying he will challenge that during indoor season (notice the fact he hasn't run xc) he has been training for track during that time. On the topic of stupidity can you even spell ONTARIO? im afraid "Ontrario" isn't it.

That being said it is much too early to be predicting medalist now. I disagree with everything you put in this post. First, this year's class of 8's looks downright tame when compared to what's been churned out in year's past. Second, Souleiman and Grieve both proved last year that they can hang for both prelims and finals, something that can't be said for most of the guys on that list of yours. Third, it is not too early to be making predictions because clearly this thread already outta control. As for Mo going sub 1:50 or T Wood going sub 8:00, let's just wait to see what they do this year before we lose our heads over it, k?

Comparing these two I would have to say that this years group of 800 runners has more depth, so to say this years class of 8's looks tame is not true. I can not say anything past those as I am unsure of who was in grade 11 in past years. I can see all 8 competitors in the final going under 1:55 based on the depth of the upcoming runners this year. I am not saying that Mo and Kyle and Rob are not threats in the race because they are based off their performances last track season and are all very capable of qualifying for the final. Yes a lot of the runners on the list i gave previously did not show they can run both a qualifier and final in the same day as all but one made the final last year. A good portion of them however have shown they are very capable of doing so their junior year just as Kyle, Mo, and Rob did last year.
