So, I know this is sort of random. But I was just thinking of the 800m record that Andrew Heaney broke in 07. Does anyone know what University he went to? LOL

the conditions at ofsaa xc were perfect this year, the thing that made it difficult was the fact that it was impossible to get out in front at the start, that is why many people choked I contest this, as I had no troubles in this area, and am the antithesis of sprinterly speed. I would provide photographic evidence, but then my identity would be busted. Some people just choke. This year though, you could blame it on the swine. In all seriousness though, I am surprised no one has brought up the obvious reason why the times were slower at Ofsaa than any other meet held on that course that year, despite the superior conditions - timing inaccuracy. I highly doubt that the Ofsaa timing was inaccurate, as it was chip time, so that leaves the other meets, which I would assume were timed manually. If, per say, the clock got started late in some of the races or whatever, as could easily happen, the organizers probably wouldn't worry about it too much, as (especially on that course) the time is often irrelevant in xc. The other alternative of course is that all the top guys/girls (at least in the senior races) happened to run an average of 10-20 seconds slower at Ofsaa in comparison with their Pre-Ofsaa times, when the course was drier and warmer (I, for one, ran the exact same time in both meets, despite feeling that I ran much harder at the Ofsaa meet). This seems unlikely to me, swine or not.

For senior guys anyway, the half hour delay probably caused it.

haha im sorry, but thats absurd. There is way to much depth this year in the 1500 to think that Eric Dillon will win if he is injured. In all seriousness he will have to work his arse off just to win in perfect conditions.

Past all the hard work he puts in, he's immensely talented (as shown by his family as well, it's in his genes). I remember in grade 10 he was injured most of cross season, ran twice, came and ran LOSSA and finished 6th, just making OFSAA cross and coming like 35th or something. He recovers quite quickly from injuries.

Yes, the Louis Riel Dome is 400m. Not only that, but it's also got longer straightaways than most tracks.
That said, the times are still very impressive for HS athletes in February.

I don't know if eamonn kichuk would be doing 400m but in the ao relay championships I was in his race and he ran a low 50 lap time, and that's two laps because it's indoor, also not using starting blocks

That said, the times are still very impressive for HS athletes in February. Especially given that Asselstine was observed to wheel no less than three girls during the race. Probably lost about 8-10 seconds each time, in addition to having to accelerate/decelerate.

the only girls those 3 wheel are their relatives. they do after all, live in sydenham.. Fact. It didn't occur to me during the race, but Rob's been reported to have a hot sister.
