So how'd it go Mike? I hear you won the Waterloo race. But was the sub-6:00 done? Post 'em up. And sorry I couldn't make it down for the race. I couldn't get a ride.

I apologize to all the b-mile enthusiasts and my personal fans out there that are anxiously awaiting the results. Yes, I admit, we are worse than the OTFA on this one (chalk another one up against ‘Ontario in general’). We didn’t even use a pre-entry database, maybe that’s where we went wrong. The appeal process for a couple DQ’s has also dragged on. But yeah, once academics loosens the tight grip on my nuts in the coming days, I will have time to type them up. In the meantime (release your bated breath), I can give you a hint as to what transpired… the person typing this won.

Mr. Lahti, I wonder if you and those other Lindsay guys would be interested in a duel beermile sometime. Say Oshawa vs. Lindsay. Hell, why not make a battle of the CVI's M vs. L?

i think i speak on behalf of the dream team when i say BRING IT ON!!!!!! A high school grudge match?? i like the sound of that.. Teams of three people or 4 people?? must all be in grade 12 or younger and must attened either mcvi or lcvi.... LET THE GAMES BEGIN>>> any ideas on dates??

Brett and all other =< grade 12'ers. I think that you should show respect for the distance and not make your debut at too young an age. In the same way that you should not run a marathon until you have raced shorter distances for a few years, you should not try a four-beer mile until you have had at least a few years of drinking. I know this is Lindsay we are talking about, but I hope that you do not already have the prerequisite mileage on your liver and kidneys.

I gotta side with zdslaw on this one. As happy as I was to initially see the sport grow into other regions of the province... 7 pages of giddyness later I am of the opinion that if you are still in high school, you should consider the Will Ferrell approach of "sex can wait, masturbate!"... saving your b-mile virginity until university (you'll be glad you did... something to look forward to and it makes it that much more special).
Plus, I'm pretty sure your =< grade 12 rule just excluded everyone Alex had in mind for the challenge (inlcuding him and me) and anyone that is actually of legal drinking age... now that's luda.
Hopefully you will learn... like you should when you're running in the dark on Sat.

Ya, that did exclude everyone I was thinking being me and Mike, although Brown will probably have his B-Mile cherry popped this year, and then there's some of the older guys that I don't really know as well. I was thinking it would be a race for the older boys 'cause I don't condone underage drinking although I will also do absolutely nothing to prevent it.
And come onn with those reults now.

The 5th annual fall BM of KW was yet another exciting affair. Although the temperature was nipple-like, the day brought good weather otherwise. 18 brave souls took to the track that evening, although not all would survive the grueling journey of four times around the black oval, all the while turning left, with rest enough only to drink a beer each lap.
As the event approached, the usual banter was bantered and death threats were uttered. The eventual winner called his own number and publicly announced his attempt to become only the ninth man in history to break the sacred 6 minute barrier. There was also a serious challenger in the form of HutchEZ, and the battle for the remaining medals looked tighter than ever.
The race got off quickly, as the defending champ was third off the 1st beer and HutchEZ made an early statement taking the lead. The Mullet B. Miler quickly used running to his advantage and reeled in the superior drinker. The Mullet was in sole possession of 1st for the rest of the race, until HutchEZ once again pulled ahead on the 4th and final beer. In exciting fashion, the champ pounded fast, charged after Hutch, and reeled him in within 100 metres. Now the race was only against the clock as the throng of fans cheered the leader toward the meet and facility record – it would be close.
As he broke the proverbial tape and his time was announced as 6:07, the champ decisively commented “FAAACK” while suppressing the urge to heave. 2 seconds off the record and no sub-6. Unfortunately this feat would have to wait until the spring incarnation. What held him back, the running or the beer? The lactic acid or the acid reflux? We’ll never know for sure, but maybe his splits will help tell the story:

In a huge PB coming off a superb season of hill and dale was HutchEZ in 6:12. Another PB and another medal greeted the Snake at the finish line. The first beer proved troublesome for the rum-and-coke drinker, as this put him too far back to utilize his patented snake-venom strike in the later stages of the race. Overall, the sport seems to be advancing nicely, as all but 3 of the 11 finishers ran PB’s. Also, impressive debuts were made by the American doctor and the pseudo-European slacker. Finally, some mad props must be given to the first woman to finish, in 10:33. That is because she did the chocolate milk mile – 4 x 500mL without puking (during the race anyways)!

It's about friggin time we got these results. Good run Mike, you did the Shwa proud. You'll go sub 6 next time I can feel it.
By the way did you use the gray shirt idea to keep track of spilage?

Well that notice was a bit late... I was actually in the 'shwa, a couple guys were at Nats, others doing track... how did it go? Did you use a legitimate track this year? You bugged me for results...
